Hotel
Long John’s Hotel lies in the centre of Amersfoort. The building's old character has been conserved during a complete renovation of the hotel. You will find Long John’s Hotel on the square, surrounded by bars and cosy restaurants. It is a lively area and one to enjoy during your stay. The historic town centre is within close reach, making this hotel very suitable for romantic trips as well as business trips and meetings.
The hotel rooms have a contemporary interior. You will have a view of the square or the canal. The rooms are accessible via the stairs. Extra long box-spring beds, oak flooring and wooden furniture ensure a stylish appearance.
Surroundings
Surrounding the Long John’s Hotel are several bars and restaurants. At the Lange Jan tower you can see the geographical heart of the Netherlands, which is represented by two metal strips. The historic town centre also boasts several old town gates. Amersfoort has plenty of nice shops where you can shop for hours on end and a visit to the Dierenpark Amersfoort zoo is also recommended.

Right in the centre of the old town, you couldn t be in a better place to explore Amersfoort. They serve great craft beer at the bar, including one made by the owner and his craft buddies. The food menu is surprisingly broad for a small place, because much of it (i.e. the burger list) is brought in from a gourmet burger restaurant 5 metres across the road.
The only thing that wasn t great was the noise of next door s shower at 11.30 at night. Not the water but an electrical whine - might have been the fan.
“My tip: Definitely have a burger and beer in the bar or the massive beer garden.”

Lovely, well located spot, small but very clean and comfortable room. Very friendly staff, and great breakfast. You need to park about 3-4 blocks away as the hotel is located right on the square beside the tower (which makes it always easy to find) but it is well worth the walk. You cannot drive up in front of this hotel. The price was also excellent at 75 euro's per night.
Other than parking a short distance away, which was not a negative for me, even with my 88 year old father along, there is nothing but praise for this delightful hotel! Go there!
“My tip: If you want it a little quieter, book on the rear, canal side. There is no A/C as zoning does not allow it for the noise, so you can open your window. Ask for a parking pass, you can get it for I think 6.50 a day, if you park where they tell you. Amersfoort was on the top of the cities I visited, lovely town. ”

Right in the middle of Amersfoort - great spot to start your touristic activities. Very fine and cheap place to stay, good breakfast available at extra (not expensive) cost.
Can't think of any minus points, sorry.

clean comfortable room. Very good value for money on the breakfast, not so cheap but better than could be found outside of the hotel. Staff very helpful and very friendly. Fantastic location, in the middle of shops, bars, restaurants. Some good bars with live music.
Very small room, no hairdryer. Asked for hairdryer every day for the 3 day stay and was promised one each day but it never appeared. Bit noisy if the bar is open late but earplugs are provided, which I used every night.

centre of Amersfoort clean, complementary bottle of water/ earplugs.
noise at night outside lamp was lightening the room during the night. (curtains should be more lightprotected)

- Gedeeld toilet

Very clean and pleasant. We had the higher priced room so we had our own facilities. I can not comment on the other rooms where you have to use common bathrooms.

Very near city center. Nice café downstairs. Friendly staff.
Room is small and does not have shower and toilet. These are in the hallway and shared with other guests. However, very clean.

Unique room in a unique hotel situated under the Lange Jan tower where there is also a Irish pub. Very romantic place in the middle of the medieval centre of Amersfoort with many cosy outdoor cafés. Room 6 is the best room of the hotel. A hotel for the romantic and adventurous.
So minor that they are easily outweighed by the possitives.

Great location. clean room . good breakfast. Good view of the square. Church clock chimes on the hour.
I took a room overlooking the square - seemed to be very noisy at night - would have been better taking a room overlooking the canal. Church clock chimes on the hour.

location, there's a convenient bar in the first floor
the lock of my room was damaged and they did not seem to know what to do... at the end it worked out, but it's a problem that should not have occurred. breakfast was ok but not great
