Hotel
Behind the magnificent historic façade of the Ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station Hotel Amsterdam hides a very elegant 3-star hotel. The hotel is decorated with an eye for detail in a mixture of modern and traditional design. The interior is soothing with atmospheric images that refer to typical Dutch landscapes: water, grass and sand. The rooms are accommodated with every modern comfort. The windows and walls are properly isolated to prevent noise nuisance and all rooms are equipped with very comfortable box-spring beds.
The location is absolutely perfect. Just a stone's throw away from Central Station and within short walking distance from Dam square, the Red Light District and the cosy, popular neighbourhood De Jordaan, as well as numerous other attractions. This is the ideal starting point to explore the city on foot. If you don't have much time, just take one of the many trams or buses that bring you to every corner of the city.
Surroundings
There are numerous attractions in the close vicinity of the hotel. You can go on a shopping spree in the Kalverstraat, on the Nieuwendijk or in boutiques of the 9 straatjes near the Rozengracht. Discover the real Amsterdam way of life in the authentic and cosy neighbourhood De Jordaan, or take a guided tour through one of the oldest areas: the Red Light District.
Food and Drink
In the hotel's bakery 'Carla's peace, love and food', you can enjoy a lovely, home-made breakfast with items including fresh raspberry/carrot juice, fig-date bread with Reypenaer cheese and a Swedish cinnamon roll. The bakers use organic ingredients wherever possible. And even if you're not a hotel-guest, you're still welcome to lunch or lounge here until 18:00. Or order a roll and a cup of coffee to go. Free WiFi is available here. Watch city life go by on sunny days whilst sitting on the cosy ourdoor terrace. Café Karpershoek, part of hotel Ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station is situated on the corner of the Martelaarsgracht and Prins Hendrikkade. This café dates back to 1606, making it the oldest café in Amsterdam. It was previously located by the harbour and was frequented by sailors. Nowadays, the clientele is a mix of local regulars and tourists. Many things here are reminiscent of bygone days, such as a thin layer of sand on the wooden floor; as has been customary for centuries-long. Or the fact that no music is played; the perfect opportunity for tourists to easily chat to a true Amsterdammer.

Excellent location, close to Central Station and to touristik boats and to the sightseeings. Super comfortable bed. I asked for the quiet room and had got the one.
5 channels on a TV set only. The extra-bin in the bathroom will be optional.

Can't beat the location; two minutes from central station, right on a tram line, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Amazingly, the hotel is dead quiet despite its central location.
Although noises from outside aren't problematic, the walls are fairly thin and doors opening/closing woke me up several times.

You can deposit your bags in a locked room in cases of early arrival or late departure. The staff is nice and welcoming.
Construction noise from the street and bad shower gel dispenser.
“My tip: Abreaxas is a couple of blocks down the street, they have really good hot chocalate.”

Central point (easy access to all the main tourist locations). Friendly and helpful staff (specially at the reception). Very clean room.
Room was bit too congested. Telephone did not work.

Travelling alone oktober 2012
Opposed to many other hotels in Amsterdam I was surprised to find a clean and quite room right next to the central station. Comfortable bed, no noise at night, flat screen on the wall and good wi-fi reception in the room.
Pillows were a bit hard and bumpy.
