Surroundings
Hotel Die Port van Cleve lies in Amsterdam's historic, cultural centre. The Dam Square and Central Station are within walking distance and several trams stop in front of the hotel. Around the hotel, you can go shopping in the Kalverstraat, the indoor shopping centre Magna Plaza, and the boutiques in the De Negen Straatjes (the nine streets). Madame Tussauds, the Anne Frank house, and the lovely De Jordaan area are also nearby.
Food and Drink
A breakfast buffet is available in Brasserie De Poort on Monday to Saturday from 06:30 until 10:30, and on Sunday from 07:30 until 10:30. You can enjoy a culinary meal in the attractive brasserie. In addition to Dutch cuisine, the brasserie serves international à la carte dishes. Brasserie de Poort has been a well-known dining establishment in Amsterdam since 1870. The restaurant has maintained a unique tradition: each steak is served with its own unique, numbered certificate. If the number on your certificate ends in two zeros, you'll receive a free bottle of wine! Bar-Bodega De Blauwe Parade has a unique atmosphere, enhanced by the Delftware tile tableau. It's possible to order an aperitif or a light meal here. An original jenever (Dutch gin) and spirit tasting session can also be arranged. In the Coffee Corner De Hooiberg you can enjoy a lively view of the street over a nice cup of coffee. The bar's opening times vary. The restaurant is open throughout the day until 22:30.

Very convenient; right in the centre of Amsterdam. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. We had a great time.
None for us. Some may find it a bit noisy - but if you want quiet, don't go to the city centre!!

very near the tourist spots and its all walking distance to madame Tussaud wax museum, mall and restaurants.
bar fridge is empty and the rooms are extremely small ( 2.5 meters x 3 meters), we cant hardly walk. good thing we are always outside the hotel.

small room, the room was dark, and the location of our room with the luggages was difficult to reach, maybe thats why we got a good deal (double room special).

Very friendly staff, very clean hotel and rooms keep immaculate. Proximity to all ajor attractions were all within 10-15 mins walk and the hotel was on a tram line directly outside if you did not fancy walking. The mail train station ( that6 brings you direct to airport) was also only 10 mins walk away
We did not have food in hotel as the prices were a bit high. The rooms were far too warm but it was explained int he literature that air conditioning would be installed later in the year. There was windows that could be opened but due to the proximity to the main city which was a good thing) the noise on the streets wuld have kept us awake more than the heat of the room.

Location perfect for walking, shopping, and to train
bathroom toilet, very crammed. It was hard to sit on the toilet without your knees being jammed into the wall so used the bathroom in the lobby.
Bedroom lighting was low and can be updated.

Good location
You can't count on the confirmed price. They added 65 Euros to the confirmed price when we got to the hotel, but we consisted that we woulden't pay more than the confirmed price. To the confirmed price comes 20% city taxes - these you have to pay. No parking at the hotel - big minus. Breakfast too expencive.
