    Hotel Downtown Amsterdam Fire Hazard

    The location was excellent.

The room was freezing when I arrived. The pokey little bathroom was never warm and the floor tiles were freezing. The shower door came off. The worst is that is was located in the attic at the top of the building with no fire escape. I barely slept, worrying about a possible fire.

“My tip: Avoid Amsterdam. It is dirty and a rip off. Maastricht is much nicer.”

    Overpriced tourist hotel

The location of the hotel was excellent, close to a lot of things - could basically walk everywhere. Staff was friendly and helpful Bathroom was clean

Room was very small. No remote control for the TV Pillows were very smelly and I had to ask for other ones breakfast was lacklustre, no real coffee Overpriced for this type of room, but I guess that is Amsterdam for you - an expensive tourist place

“My tip: Hotel is close to Leidseplein, where there are many nice restaurants and bars”

    Two-star hotel with 3-star service

The staff was very responsive; breakfast was good but not the juice, and there was no fresh fruit offered. The beds were comfortable, hotel was clean, and though in the tourist zone, we were on the top floor facing away from the street, which made our room quiet and private. Very nice quality towels for such an inexpensive hotel.

The rudeness of other guests is not under control of the hotel, so no minus points.

“My tip: Very centrally located, all of Amsterdam within easy reach. Don't forget to leave something for the cleaners! They do a good job - ”

Great location for a basic place!

Great location, quiet room with all basic facilities. Also good selection at breakfast.

Room wasn't ready at check in time and towels were provided a few hours after that.

“My tip: We went for a quick night away, highly recommend the pub crawl for nightlife and also a restaurant called Van Kerkwijk which is just off Dam Square for some good quality dishes.”

Great Place For A Weekend Getaway

Great Coffee, Continental Breakfast, Soft Bed, Great Location, Free Wi-Fi, Front Desk Staff Very Nice

Very small rooms and bathroom, no parking

“My tip: It is a great place to stay for a couple days but it is too small for longer. 2 great Tabby cats live there. Excellent location. Start the day with breakfast and then head out for the day.”

A bargain for such a good location

Very clean hotel and reasonably priced, perfect location and the staff are very friendly. In particular, after being initially ripped off on getting a taxi to the hotel George managed to sort us out a good deal for the return taxi to the airport.

Breakfast finishes quite early (think it was 9.30), although that's quite possibly our fault because we were generally hungover.

This hotel does not know the meaning of customer service.

The location is the only positive thing.

Most of the front desk staff was very rude and not customer oriented. They did not seem to be bothered with anything, even giving an official receipt for my stay. I wonder if they are even paying taxes. The attitude of the breakfast person was as if she had bought the food herself and did not want to spend too much, and so they ran out of stuff after only one hour. No remote for the television, and the staff blamed it on the customers' stealing them. How hard is it to have a sign-out policy?

“My tip: Do not stay here. These hotels exist because people still go there. No remotes for the televisions, no food in the rooms, no friends in the rooms, etc., etc. I got screamed at when I asked if my room was ready when I arrived an hour early before check-in. In the end it was ready.”

Would stay here again but only for overnight visits to A'dam

Location, lively area with plenty of bars and restaurants, even a coffee shop next door Warm and clean Breakfast was adequate (cheese, meats, bread, coffee, tea and a breakfast drink aka 'juice')

Room was tiny and no space to hang up more than a couple of shirts and a coat, so OK for an overnight stay

Nice for a few days trip

The staff is nice, you're free to leave and come back at anytime. They don't even bother you if you d'ont leave the room a 11, but of course they don't clean it.

Not particulary pretty, a lot of stairs with no elevator, small hotel

GOOD DEAL. GOOD LOCATION. NEEDS A BIT CLEANER ROOMS.

I am sorry not to find out the name of a very nice employee. He helped me to find out the price of lockers at central station and location of Bershka shop. He is doing his job with ease and he is very warm and pleasant person.

The other employee. Not as warm. The same question if he knows the cost of lockers at cetral station was very simple. Just "NO".

Good location near Leidesplein and Vondel Park and a lot of night life. Very clean and nice views overlooking the city from the 4th floor rooms.

A bit of a hike from the heart of old Amsterdam.

Comfortable stay in the best location where you can feel the city

Perfect location. Everything at your doorstep. The public transportation is 1 minute walk. The room (double room) was clean and normal. Bathroom also. They change the towels every day. You get free wifi with quite good speed. The breakfast - included in the price - was OK.

The walls are extremely thin. The doors are extremely heavy, so every time one door was closing, the whole building heard it and felt it. There is quite vivid nightlife around the hotel, so I would recommend for only those who party and who doesn't mind the noise.

    I wouldnt recommend this hotel

The hotel is very central, and it is very easy to walk from it to most districts.

The hotel had taken too many reservations, so we were first put in a tiny room and had to change rooms in the middle of our stay. Once in our new (and much larger) room, we were disturbed by the manager at 11.30 pm because he needed the extra mattress that was in our room! The double bed was actually 2 single beds put together. Breakfast was quite plain and lacked choice, given the price of the rooms in the hotel. There are quite a few cats in the hotel, which is nice but not very hygenic.
