Overall this was a good deal for the price.

Friendly staff, our room and bathroom were small but clean, not bad for the price.

A bit of a walk from the center, not much to see or do nearby, a little noisy at night.

“My tip: This works out fine if you don't mind the 15- 20 minute walk to the center.”

    stay out

sorry to say this hotel did not have any positive points. we booked through hotels.nl just because it was 31st dec we were charged 4 times more for the same room. And the owner did not even greeted you or wished you.

the breakfast was of no quality. in the rooms they used all LIDL stuff. We could not sleep through the night due to lot of noise and people walking in the corridor. Not a place to stay with kids at all.

“My tip: stay out of this place very inconvinient and far from the city.”

    Tiny but cheap rooms

Very cheap, not far from the city centre.

Small rooms, and I mean really really small rooms. My room (single basic) was literally 4 sqm (2m x 2m) and the bed was really narrow. If all you need to do in the room is to sleep, then it's probably fine, but if you want to spend there more time you should check something else. Most of the guests were young, looking for fun, which sometimes means a bit of noise at night.

Cheap hotel if you only want a place to sleep; not recommended

    - friendly and helpful staff - lot of brochures available - close to public transportation - some basic bathing products available - very clean rooms - fresh towels every day - 24h reception - decent breakfast included - television

    - tiny rooms - narrow corridors - unstable internet connection - although close to a train station, quite far off the city center - difficult to find in a residential area - shared bathrooms have both toilets and shower, which means entire bathroom is locked if one of them is used

HOTEL FLIPPER - Serves the purpose...but needs a lot of COMPROMISES!!!

+ 76 euros (plus 3.8 euro city tax )...good price in amsterdam + hotel staff guides u very well...it has an all-chinese staff...surprising..but they are nice warm people.. + Typically meant for one night you need to just sleep and run..

    - SHARED SHOWER AND TOILETS (not bad in terms of clenliness but the whole concept of shared toilet....doesn't look too good to me) - had a tuf time finding that place...direction boards are there but still it doesnt serve the purpose... - not too far from public transportation...can be managed pretty well...just if u go there on a day when it is snowing heavily...you will face a problem...especially in the nights.. - the bed I got was rather a (half) single bed...and I am tall so it was a bit uncomfortable...and the room is a pigeonhole...I always thought Hong Kong hotels are small...but this was funny...come to think of it...for such a small room...if u pay 76 euros...it is still expensive isn't it ;-)

Good food. Nice people who work there.

We stayed in a quad room and tried to sneak in a fifth person. Yeah, that didn't work. We had to pay an extra 110 EUR! Also, not very many bars/coffee shops near. Have to take a trip to the center (like 10 min ride).

plesant stay but like a hostel not a hotel

room was clean and comfortable, bathroom was lovely. selpt well both nights of my wk end stay and the staff were nice. if you dont mind getting a 2 metros into city centre its fine. no4 from grand central will get you there get off at 2nd stop in van woustraat. ul get off at bridge over canal walk take a left(canal should be on ur right)walk straight down and take 2nd right, its on the left.

its at least 45 min walk to centre of city. its very hard to find. we had to get a taxi which cost 35euro fron central. rip off for a 5 minute journey. the room i booked looked nothing like the room i got i felt like i was staying in somebodies house not a hotel.telly was like a stamp. no aircon. no full lenght mirror either! small one above sink in bathroom.

    Reasonable value for money

For the class of low budget hotels and the general hotel standards of Amsterdam, the Flipper gives reasonable value for money

For tourists the location is too far away from the interesting places.

Ok hotel if you're not looking for luxury.

cheap and worth the money. traveling with 2 friends on a low budget so it was ok for us. if youre looking for luxury, this is not for you. hot water in shower and a place to sleep.

bathroom was about +5-10c, we used it as a fridge.

    Bedbugs

The bed was more or less comfortable, and the toilet was very close to our room.

The private room we rented was extremely cramped and poorly ventilated, with a shower/sink room that did not drain well due to the slope of the floor. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Most importantly, my husband left with what could only have been bedbug bites -- very uncomfortable!
