I'd spend another 40-50 euros to get a closer hotel to the center.

Pretty close to all attractions by Tram and Metro. Has near by supermarket and coffeshop (2 min. walking). 1 min. walking to trams 7,9,10 and Metro which will take you anywhere in the city. the two guys at the reception was really helpful and nice, served me well. very nice hospitality.

    1. though the high intensity of the public transportation it is still far from the center, i dont think it worth 130 euros a night. 2. shower's water stream was really low, almost unable to take a decent shower. 3. min-fridge doesnt work where you're out of the room. 4. my room was outside of the main building, a hut in the yard.

“My tip: 1. you can do your daily shopping at the supermarket, just 2 minutes from the hotel, ask the reception for directions. 2. when arriving from the airport to the central station you have direct Metro route to the hotel (2 min. walking) route M054. (instead of walking with all the weight on Trams and feet)”

Modern characterful oasis in the city

Very friendly reception and modern comfortable room.

Could have done with stationary and tea and coffee in room.

“My tip: Lovely area to stay in - great for zoo and east/south especially. But everything is very walkable.”

    excellent choice

The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety offered for breakfast. The room and the bathroom were very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The location is also great for exploring the city as the metro and tram stations are very close to the hotel.

The only downside was the noise coming from the street. You could hear the trams passing very early in the morning and since it was pretty hot, the windows were open and the noise was a bit too much.

“My tip: If possible, choose a room that is not facing the street.”

    Price/Quality: Many things to improve

    - Close to metro station (5 minutes walk) - shower is ok - free internet access

    - small room and bathroom - refrigerator not cooling properly - TV bad quality - duvets are to heavy and too warm - renovation/repairing work is ongoing: noise starts at 0700... - mattresses gliding/moving (not fix)

“My tip: Look for a better hotel”

Friendly and well decorated hotel. Recommended.

Very friendly family run hotel. Hotel recently decorated. Rooms very pleasant with a good shower and large TV. Breakfast fully adequate. Location is near to Amsterdam University and walking distance to zoo plus museums but need transport to and from central station. On arrival we mentioned that our daugher was celebratng a birthday -- later we found a card and chocolates in our room. Hotel arranged taxi back to the airport which was economical for 4 people.

All positive but if pressed -- stairs to rooms rather steep (normal for Holland) and breakfast room was smallish

Clean small hotel but poor value for money.

The hotel is clean and provides a basic breakfast. Staff was friendly.

Extremely poor value for money, probably the worst I have encountered.

    Nice and comfortable

Super-clean, very new, really nice and comfortable. Excellent location just outside all the craziness - central yet quiet.

Night staff seemed unsure about the price, asked us for more money the next day after she made a mistake and charged us too little.

Lovely hotel with lots of charm.

After a little walk through a dark neighborhood, we found ourselves at the base of a hotel with beautiful and clean red steps. The feng shui was undeniable. Our front door man, Zi-Jian,a Scorpio, was charming, sweet, funny and very helpful. Check in was quick, and we were in our room showering with HOT water asap. The room was very clean and cozy. The balcony was big enough for two people to smoke comfortably. An unexpected plus was a giant flat screen tv, with many selections to choose from. Even on the first floor, it was quiet and relaxing all night. The boiling water maker was a life saver, as we arrived to late to go to dinner, and were forced to make our emergency noodles. When asking the door man for some bowls, we were let in the kitchen to find what we needed, and given chocolates before returning to the room. Breakfast in the morning and coffee was just enough to fill our bellies and prepare us for a long day of shopping. Which was only possible because our precious door man let us leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out, for the remainder of our visit in Amsterdam, so that we did not have to haul it around.

The beds were a little to "spring" mattress, and could be replaced. The shower was very tiny, and meant only for the healthy and fit, aka "under 150bs". The advertisement for the room should mention that the hotel is located in a quiet part of the city, and that the balcony does not overlook a busy street, but rather a lovely little garden.

Just what we needed. Great for us

Great service, the guys were great and always went the extra mile. The room was clean and nice, breakfast was ok, just perfect for us. Exactly what we needed for a few days in Amsterdam. And it didn't break our bank account.

The size of the room was on the small side, but honestly, we had what we needed, the layout was smart and we never felt uncomfortable. It wasn't right in the centre of the city, but if you think ONE metro stop (to Waterlooplein) is too much, then it was too far away for you.

misleading advertising about a very ordinary hotel

The location near the city center and near metro station and tram stops.

The room too small, the bathroom unconfortable and lacking of essential equipments of furniture; in short, the prize was not at all an "hot deal" as advertised in the web site, but too high for the level of the service and the quality of the room.

    Very recommendable hotel

Quiet, Cosy hotel with nice rooms. Everything clean. Friendly staff. We liked that the hotel is a little bit away from the city center (only few minuts with the metro, 5 min. on bike, 20 min by foot). Nice neighborhood. Supermarket not far away. Acces to free internet (15 minuts). Good flatscreen tv with lots of channels (also international). Breakfast was included. Coffe and teamaking facilities. Possible to buy snacks for fair prices (vending machine).

Breakfast was not so interesting, but not bad either.
