The receptionist was really friendly and helpfull. We upgraded rooms before we arrived from a small double to large double. WHen we got there we were actually given a family group room on the first floor, this was perfect for us. Very big and clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. It would not suit every one as it was next to the front door so could be a little loud but was not an issue at all. The free hot drinks were a nice touch. The cat that hanged around the kitchen made me fe
Finding our way around the first day but once we found the metro was just up the street it was easy getting to and from the center.
“My tip: If you come out of the hotel and turn left, walk straight up to the end of the street and left again the metro link is just there. Then it takes 5 mins to get to central station. ”

The reception was really warm and helpful, thank you again.
“My tip: Even the rooms with garden view is nice, but the rooms with channel view is more preferable.”

Great location- quiet canal street easy walk to main attractions Staff very polite and helpful I am guessing upstairs rooms would have good views?!! Free coffee and hot drinks from machine Beautiful canal side burgh house
Family room was on ground floor next to front door and reception desk Disappointed in the room - adequate comfort but felt like it had been squeezed in where dining room should have been! Kept awake by other guests coming and going and by reception desk door banging - a "family" room should be quiet !! No sleep !! Too expensive for what it was
“My tip: Do stay if you want a great location but check exactly where your room is located as our noisy ground floor and no sleep for 2 nights put me off! Beautiful building, contemporary decor but on the cheap !!”

location
Room smelly (moldy). No towels in room. Shower only functioning properly intermittently (when others in the hotel did not use the hot water). no elevator (5 floors)

Central and cheap, beautiful old canal-house.
Steep stairway to all five floors, bed was too hard, no safe.

Convenient location, within walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal, close to public transport. Beautiful view of the canal from the twin room. Rooms were warm. Overall, exceeds expectations for a 2 star hotel.
Bedding could be improved.

Great price. Nice hotel, attractive, clean and modern. Great personnel, friendly, well mannered and providing help.
Small, but cosy. Some of the bathrooms are to small for averaged size people. No elevator to the 5th floor (71 steps to be taken ;)) To cold when freezing outside (only one extra blanket available).

there was no minus points anyway. The bed was hard as on the reviews but i love hard beds, so lucky me. The breakfast was fair enough for me. People are complaining all the time. I really don't understand how people find this hotel dirty. my house is even more dirty:D The location wouldn't be better. In the city with no noise..

It was such a nice old Amsterdam canal house from th 18th century. the room was a bit small. But who cares. I had a great time. Even when i was completely drunk i could walk back home. It was such a quiet neighbourhood. excellent..

fair price for a good location in a quiet neighborhood; easy to get anywhere from The Hermitage; modern furnishings, easy to book on-line, front desk service, staff were overall very patient and helpful
bathroom/shower very difficult to maneuver especially for tall people; housekeeping staff could have been a tad more patient with travelers who may need access to their room while they're cleaning it, otherwise no other issues

It is located in Amsterdam Centrum on the right hand side of the Hermitage Museum.
I was given a single room above the main entrance door. In the evenings and specially at night, people were smoking and talking at the entrance door. I could listen clearly to their conversations and smell the smoke with the window and blinde completely closed. Guests were very rude: talking and laughing loudly, running on the corridors until half past one or two in the morning. I had to ask for a hairdryer at the reception desk every evening and I had to leave 10 Euros deposit for using the TV remote control. I also had to pay the whole stay, 5 days, in advance, that is, the day of arrival. The shower was not cleaned in 5 days. Breakfast was not included. It was two expensive for the quality and service.

The location was fine. Walking distance to center. Nice neighborhood. Friendly service at the counter
The room was about to fall apart. Lamps missing. Tiles in the bath was missing. We had water coming through the ceiling from the room above. The family room was in the basement, very low ceiling therefor warm and less air. No aircon.

This hotel is located at a great spot.
The price is too high for the size of its rooms. It should be 30 to 40 % cheaper. Breakfast should be included. Service is not bad but it can be better. Checking out at 3pm is inconvenient.
