Hotel Larende lies within walking distance from the centre of Amsterdam and the lively district Jordaan. It's an excellent base from which to explore Amsterdam. The hotel is easily accessible with a tram stop in front of the hotel; from Central Station you can take tram line 13 and from Station Sloterdijk line 12. Both lines stop near to the Willem de Zwijgerlaan, which is at walking distance from the hotel.
The modern and pleasant hotel rooms have a bathroom with shower and toilet and some rooms even feature a hot tub. The companion restaurant has been one of the most frequented restaurants in the area. It thanks it reputation to the tasty dishes, served in a beautiful setting.
Surroundings
From Hotel Larende in Amsterdam, the most famous museums of Amsterdam can be easily reached on foot. The magnificent Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum are on the square Museumplein. The Concertgebouw is there as well. The Anne Frank House and the church Westerkerk in the Jordaan are within walking distance. A short tram ride takes you to the Dam, with Madame Tussauds and the Royal Palace, the Leidseplein with its many bars and places of entertainment, the lively Rembrandt Square and the Hermitage, Artis Zoo and the many other places of interest that Amsterdam has to offer.
Food and Drink
The breakfast buffet is served each morning from 07:30 until 10:00. After 10:00 you can order breakfast for €12.50 per person. The restaurant is open for dinner between 17:00 and 23:00. There's also a bar at the hotel, which is open from 17:00 until 01:00.

Staff helpful, hotel had nice clean comfortable contemporary feel., Breakfasts excellent.
We were very disappointed having clearly specified a double bed in the booking that we were first allocated a twin on check in and had to ask to have it changed. We did not expect to experience discrimination against same sex couples in Amsterdam of all places.
We had a 4th floor room - thank goodness the weather was cool because the room was very hot.
“My tip: Fourth floor rooms are an attic conversion and very hot - ask to avoid these on booking, unless of course you love the heat that much.”

Exceptionally helpful front desk and good food in restaurant. Complementary glass of wine on arrival. We were able to book bus trips and museum tickets at the front desk and taxi to ferry. English spoken.

Clean, bright, like- new room, great firm bed for wonderful sleep.
Big desk, big armoire! Easy reach bed lights. Superb bathroom.
Breakfast buffet includes croissants, boiled eggs, omelette, yoghurt, meats and cheeses, granola, fruit salad with pomegranate pips, cucumber spears, sliced tomatoes, several types of bread with butter, juices, a selection of teas, coffee. Satisfying
No hooks on walls or doors to hang wet coats after rain! No razor, shave cream, cotton swabs, or hair conditioner. Tea and coffee available from desk, but no setup in room to make one's own. Can hear conversations in adjoining rooms with no problem.

We asked for a quiet room and we got the perfect room with a balcony overlooking a courtyard. No street noise! The hotel staff bent over backwards to get us information about local attractions and information both before our arrival via email and after our arrival. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous; something for everyone. Convenient location served by three trams just minutes from Dam Square. I was so happy with my choice!

“My tip: Book ahead and ask for a quiet room. The "lift" was essential as climbing the narrow stairs would have been challenging. Buy a 72 hour pass for the tram at Central Station; it's a bargain and a quick way to get around town.”

good location: about 10-15 minutes of walk to the Leidseplein. 15 minutes to central station or museum plein via tram. the tram stop is near the hotel.
good service, good possibility to buy all tours and tickets directly in hotel. individual approach to the customer. good balance between prices and quality.

Clean, comfortable and away from the overcrowded and noisy touristy. It has xcellent access to the trams (runs right in front of the hotel) with the city centre only 10 min away. It is also located close to some nice local restaurants, quiet pubs, cafes and withing walking distance to may places. Highly recommended

good restaurant on first floor. In ten days of travel, only place that offered a complimentary drink upon arrival. near museums on short tram ride. tram stop outside of hotel. very accommodating staff.

It's the second time we go at Hotel Larende and we like tranquillity of the place. Price/quality ratio and all the services are good. At 30m there is a tram stop that brings you directly in center town (7min)

Clean, well presented, rooms to a good standard, breakfast acceptable.

I have since sought advice from the UK passport agency who described this as "unusual", "worrying" and "dubious". I will be acting in accordance with their recommendations

The Hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. There are tram lines near the hotel and the transport is easy around the city.
The rooms are quite small. The reception is located in the same place, where there is a restaurant. There is no place for staying out of the bedrooms. The breakfast is very economic.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to look around Amsterdam and likes walking. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff very kind and helpful. Would definately use again.
The only down point is the parking (if you have driven) which can be very expensive.

Very warm welcome---was offered a free cup of coffee upon arrival. The staff were friendly and very pleasant. The restaurant at hotel had well priced, delicious food. The room was spotless and very comfortable.
It was quiet and easy to reach by tram from Central Station.

The hotel was amazing - clean, tidy, safe and exactly how it was advertised in photos etc. The family run hotel makes you feel comfortable, they are lovely people and will definitely be staying there on my next visit to Amsterdam. The meals at the hotel are well priced and delicious. Tram stop outside the door makes everything easily accessible. A personal thank you to this hotel.
