    Genial

El personal del hotel encantador, la habitación genial y el desayuno mejor.

Las típicas escaleras de Amsterdam estrechas y muy empinadas. Aunque para nosotros resultaron una diversión más XD

    Highly recommended

The whole staff from cleaners to reception were very helpful friendly and welcoming. The place had a very warm feel about it. Breakfast was great with real juice and everything you could want. Our bathroom was big and very clean. It was close to good restaurants and the tram.

We had a minor bathroom issue but it was fixed as soon as we reported it.

“My tip: Hap Hmm in the street parallel is great Dutch food and very cheap. The street the hotel is in is Tweede Hermenstraat. ”

5 minutes walk into the city

Location is superb, it s a reasonably quiet area. The continental breakfast was lovely and fresh. The room was very clean. Staff and management were very pleasant and communicative.

The room was extremely cold when I arrived late, with one window fully open (very large windows) and the other partially open). The radiator had been turned off, I had a very cold night and could not get warm. It was after reading the helpful book the following morning, that I realised this is regular practise at this hotel. I found the room and bathroom very clean, but found 3 very large black male body hairs under my pillow, although all the bedding was clean. The cleaners were loud, they talked to each other very loudly (almost shouting) and really banged around the furniture.

“My tip: Pay for your room by cash as 4 fee is added, if you pay by any form of card. Make sure your windows are closed and your radiator is turned on, if it s cold. Lift only goes to 3rd 4th floor and the stairs are extremely steep (as are all stairs in Amsterdam) Tasty varied continental breakfast. Trams buses within 5 mins walk. A lot to do within 15 mins walk”

    Great hotel, will visit again

Great location, very clean rooms, and pleasant staff.

Since it s an typical older Amsterdam building, the walls are pretty thin, so you ll head pretty much every step and voice outside your room (we didn t mind that).

“My tip: The stairs are also typical old Amsterdam style, so you might consider using the elevator. 10 mins walking from city center, so if you don t mind walking a bit, you probably won t have to use the public transport at all.”

    Romantic break

We got upgraded to a small apartment for the same price as a room. Lovely for our first break away as a couple.

    Funny smell from the drains.

Very basic hotel, no frills but with a perfect location

Hotel very clean, quiet, brilliant location, nice breakfast, basic but efficient.

The owner was a little abrupt, but this didn t bother us. The lift was just big enough for the two of us to fit in together. If using the stairs it was very steep, this is common in Amsterdam though.

“My tip: Get the 197 bus if travelling from schipol airport, it drops you around the corner at the American hotel straight from the airport and only costs 5. No need for transport passes as everything is so accessible on foot. The hop on hop off boat tour is good. If you intend visiting the Anne frank house buy your tickets online months in advance as the queues are 5 hours long on the day For the best burger in Amsterdam visit Getto off Dam square, very reasonably priced and delicious ”

The room was kept very clean very nice cleaning staff always said hello, the location is absolutley fantastic for the museums, restuarants and vondelpark.

On arrival the gentleman on reception was very disinterested and a little rude. I must say this is only one staff member and the younger gentleman and ladies on reception were very pleasant. The cleaning staff deserve praise.

nice hotel with funny interior decoration

Excellent value for money. Good and quite location. Triple room booked, big enough for a double occupancy. Very funny interior decoration.

Two single beds not very comfortable. Too soft , not stable.

“My tip: Very close to the lively Leidsplane.”

Plus points are location and the effort of the rest of the staff (except the owner of a hotel), price and the quality of bikes owned by the hotel

Very unpleasant and rude director of the hotel, and a horrible bed in the room 309.

“My tip: Don t be surprised by the rude behaviour of the owner, and avoid the room 39 if you want to have a good night rest.”

    Nice Hotel

Very well priced, clean and tidy hotel. Decent hotel. What is described on their website is what you will find.

None. Although check in felt a bit like passport control at an airport. Slightly strange, however that must be the Dutch way of welcoming you to their premises. No harm meant or done.

“My tip: If arriving into Centraal Station. As you walk out and look north west, you will see the tram office. Buy yourselves a 1- 4 day pass on the tram depending on how long your visit is. 4 day was 21 euro.”

A very enjoyable and well-situated hotel at a very good price

The proximity of the Jupiter Hotel to Amsterdam s old city centre is amazing. It is on a quiet street that seems removed from the city, yet within 15 minutes walk you can get to most major attractions such as Museumsplein and Leidsesplein. The tram system, trains, and busses to Schipol are all very accessible. The breakfast and staff of the Jupiter are both very enjoyable, and they seem genuinely concerned with making sure you have a comfortable stay in Amsterdam.

The rooms were small and poorly ventilated, which makes for an extremely hot and stuffy sleep if you come in the summer months. The elevator is extremely small and could not hold more than two people with luggage. At later hours, the elevator may be unuseable due to other guests leaving the manual doors open on other floors. The stairs are extremely narrow and would not be safe for people with mobility issues.

“My tip: Hit the bricks There is so much of Amsterdam that is accesible on foot from this hotel, as well as canal boats and peddle boat rentals within 5min walk from the Jupiter hotel. ”

Great location, clean and very good value

The room was charming and well appointed with a very clean, recently renovated bathroom. It was exceptional value for Amsterdam. The lady at the reception desk was helpful in pointing out an airport bus nearby (the 197) that goes to the airport for just 5 euros, as opposed to about 35 for a taxi. Breakfast was simple but good.

My room was up 2 flights of very steep, narrow stairs. Fortunately the manager carried my bag up for me but I had to carry it down. This would be very treacherous for older people or for anyone with a physical disability. Not much can be done about this as there is no lift and it is the norm for many smaller Amsterdam hotels, but you should be aware that this is the case if it is likely to be a problem

“My tip: A bus to Schipol airport can be boarded outside the American Hotel, about a 5 min walk from the Jupiter.”
