Hotel Nicolaas Witsen has a perfect location, on the south side of the ring of canals, in the centre of the city. The Museumplein with the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum can be reached on foot within 10 minutes, as well as the entertainment venues around the Rembrandtplein and the Leidseplein.
The three attractive and authentic buildings in which the hotel is established are more than 100 years old. The rooms offer all modern conveniences. With their friendly and hospitable service the staff will make you feel at home straight away.
Surroundings
Hotel Nicolaas Witsen Amsterdam is situated in a calm street, at a small distance of numerous museums and areas of interest. The Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are easily reached on foot. The lively Albert Cuyp market is just around the corner and offers a wide variety of fresh fruit, fish and souvenirs.

Comfortable clean hotel. Good rooms we stayed in triple room.
There is no dinner @ hotel so you have to go out. we found small Italian 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Would stay there again.
Slightly out of the city centre 1.2km so you take a tram to it. Would be good to include directions to the hotel on the website with the tram number and map location to make it easier to find.
Once you use the trams it is easy to get back into the city centre.
“My tip: Take tram number 4 direction RAI to the hotel. Take the trams from centraal station on the left hand side as you exit the station. Ristorante il boccalino is about 5-9 minutes walk away which serves reasonable food and prices.”

Clean, quiet, warm, friendly. The breakfast is also good.
Not exactly in the centre, but not so bad. 25 min. walk from the Station, 10 min. to Rembrandt's Plein, 5 min. to the museums.

A three 'star' hotel which is clean / tidy with a pleasant decor and friendly helpful staff . Myself and wife enjoyed our stay here , breakfast was included as was hotel tax which I believe is xtra on some hotels.
Approximately 1 mile from the centre of Amsterdam but near to some museums.Breakfast was basic but well presented.
“My tip: Check that location is right for you, but there is a good tram service with a stop 100 yards away.”
