Hotel

Hotel Roemer Amsterdam is located in an 18th century mansion that has been rebuilt into a stylish and comfortable hotel. The hotel's location is ideal: it is within 200 meters of the entertainment venues that surround the Leidseplein, and within 600 metres of three renowned museums at the Museumplein. For an interesting stroll or picnic in the well-known Vondelpark public garden you will only need to walk to the street corner. For those who enjoy shopping, the famous shopping streets of the P.C. Hooftstraat and Van Baerlestraat are equally closeby. Also, since the nearby Leidseplein is one of the main connecting points for many tramlines, the city's public transportation system will ensure an excellent connection to the remaining parts of the city centre and the suburbs. The hotel offers bicycles for hire, which you need to reserve in advance.

Besides the outstanding location, the excellent facilities of the hotel will be equally pleasing to guests. The rooms all have their own unique character and are decorated with beautiful carpets and fabrics with classical patterns. The high quality designer furniture and the warm pastel shades finish the rooms and provide the guest with superb atmospheric accommodation. Not only will the guest be able to use a private safe and room service, the rooms also have personally adjustable air conditioning, an LCD television, a DVD player, iPod speakers, and a Nespresso coffee maker. The rooms also feature an agreeable work space, with British and American plug adapters. The bathrooms are finished in Belgian natural stone and equipped with an extra large hot tub, bath, and/or walk-in shower. An LCD television, designer bath products, bathrobes, and a powerful hair dryer are at your disposal.

The lounge and lobby areas are decorated with fine works of art and flower arrangements that complement the stylish interior. Adjacent to the hotel's garden, you will also find a luxurious conference room that is accessible through the cosy cocktail bar and is equally suitable for a private dinner.

Surroundings

Hotel Roemer Amsterdam has an extremely central location. The Leidseplein is only 200 metres away, where you will find numerous restaurants and cafés, a casino, the theatre Stadsschouwburg, and a main connecting point of several tramlines. The Museumplein is only 600 metres away, where you can spend hours in the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Stedelijk Museum. A short walk will also bring you to the famous ring of canals, a characteristic area with many bridges and historic buildings.

Food and Drink

The lively lobby area features a cocktail bar, where you can relax with a nice drink or enjoy a light meal. On warm days you can be served in the hotel's garden. In the morning the hotel serves a breakfast for its hotel guests, between 07:00 and 10:30 h. on weekdays and from 07:30 to 11:00 h. during the weekend. For a more extensive meal you can go to restaurant Joost Eat & Drink in Hotel Vondel in less then a minute's walking distance. Guests can book the 'all inclusive package' at an additional charge in the hotel. This includes:- Breakfast buffet;- Drinks and assortment of appetizers in the lounge;- Minibar and carafs with alcoholic drinks in the rooms.

    Excellent price quality

Very large, luxuriously looking room. Big bed, Nespresso coffee, very comfortable shower. I have experienced much more expensive hotels that were less good.

    Very modern and comfortable

We arrived quite early to our hotel, and while they didn t have our room ready yet, they were able to get us in at their sister hotel a few blocks away and gave us a complimentary taxi ride. The room was small, but luxurious and comfortable.

Nice hotel centrally located in Amsterdam

The room was comfortable and quiet. It was good for sleeping. It had enough space so we did not feel cramped at all. The breakfast was good. We liked the location of our room which was on the ground floor. At first we thought it might have street noise, but actually was quite quiet.

    GREAT HOTEL

A relaxed boutique hotel in a wonderful location. I loved the all-inclusive notion, the extra touches in the room and the great staff. I had an executive room with a great balcony on the back - a wonderful place to have a drink and enjoy an Amsterdam evening. I have been here twice and will certainly go back again.

    PROMISES LUXURY BUT DELIVERS MEDIOCRITY

very good location, quiet and easy to access trams and restaurants

grossly overpriced at Euros 410 per night; coffee machine did not work in the room neither did the weighing scales;insufficient mixers to go with vodka, gin and whisky- facecloths not replaced on second day-staff didnt know we were entitled to free drinks and appetizers and embarrassedus by cheking before we were allowed to have anything:THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A 4 STAR HOTEL WHICH WE WERE PAYING 410 EUROS A NIGHT-WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN

    Stay Here

Great Location. Close to the park, museums, upscale shopping, and the tram. Very clean hotel with a friendly staff.

One very small drawback is that the doors to the rooms need to be pulled shut. Which if you or others aren't thinking about it can make a noise that may be disturbing.

A quiet oasis in the middle of the city

The staff was very service minded and helped us with picking very good restaurants.

The only thing I can point out is the pillows, they were lumpy... :-), I guess the hotel is a bit on the expensive side, but we felt it was worth it.

nice small hotel with good service and room amenities

staff very nice and helpful. price of room included many complimentary perks. small and intimate. good location near vondelpark. lovely garden out back and nice patios for some rooms. quiet neighborhood.

hotel lobby and room a little the worse for wear. at peak hour for breakfast understaffed. small rooms and bathrooms with not very much closet space and too much furniture in the room.

Stress-free and cozy quarters for exploring Amsterdam

Comfy bed, lovely bar/restaurant & front desk staff who were able to arrange early check-in with no problem. Bright breakfast room overlooking garden & nice breakfast selection, cozy lounge for evening drinks & low key socializing. Good shower once someone explained how it worked. Wonderful location close to Vondelpark, shopping, cafes and museums.

Hotel entrance & exit awkward with luggage, no porters to bring bags to room. Small but well designed room needs some refreshing... carpet was a bit worn, and at first glance marble floor in bathroom looked dirty but it was spilled candlewax that had not been removed.

    Pure decadance in the Dam

It is like visiting someones home... a very nice one at that! Staff welcoming and helpfull without being intrusive. Couldnt recommend the place high enough. Interior is very well design and theres so many nice touches - too many to list. Incl a relaxed Breakfast till 11 and free mini bar. Coffee machine in room was great and the bathroom was pure luxury - incl TV.

none - would visit again and again if budget and holiday allowance allowed!

A pleasant, comfortable, quiet and clean room. The receptionist gave me the information that I asked for, and a taxi was ordered promptly for me when I left.

Breakfast was poor. I had only 30 minutes to have breakfast, as I had to leave for the station at 7.30. The person who did the cooking (of eggs, etc) wasn\'t there at first (she was at the other hotel), and when she came, the boiled egg I asked for was very undercooked (although I had asked for it to be well cooked). There wasn\'t much choice available for breakfast and there was very little that was attractive, either on the menu or laid out on the table. The room prices are far too high for what is offered.

Wonderful large bed and very comfortable. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the all inclusive facility.

Bedroom a little small and only 4 hangers in the small wardrobe. Having said that the bed was large . Fine for us as only staying 3 nights and of average build. However did hit myself on t v when getting up to use bathroom at night.

Great staff, always try to please you. Excellent taste in the decoration of the hotel.Rare!

Too expensive for what it is. Not enough stff in the kitchen, quite average breakfast, and could be more generous with food.

Really nice barman - Zahib?! very friendly, helpful. nice and clean rooms, confortable bed.

All inclusive?!?!? As this hotel is quite expensive and it was advertised as \"all inclusive\", it was kind of funny when they charged us for the bottle of shampagne we took with us to our room. Appertizers in the lobby?!?! Only peanuts - I would have expected at least some fruits. the price was too high.
