The first Van der Valk hotel in the capital city of the Netherlands is now a fact. Van der Valk Amsterdam-Amstel opened its doors in September 2018. It is a splendid hotel, situated in a 60-metre-high tower, on the Duivendrechtsevaart in Amsterdam Oost. A 5-minute walk will take you to Overamstel metro station where several metro lines will run you to the city centre in less than 10 minutes. You shall want for nothing at the hotel: delicious food in 3 restaurants and ultimate relaxation in the spacious spa. You'll find Wellness de Tropen on the 3rd floor, and is free for hotel guests. It is a beautiful space, spanning over 210 m². Here you'll find a swimming pool, a traditional sauna, infrared sauna, rhassoul area, footbaths and an "experience shower". And why not indulge in a massage or a facial? Treatments are available at an additional charge.
Surroundings
Just 15 minutes by public transport and you'll be on Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam. This splendid 17th century capital city offers a unique mix of history, culture, museums, shops and entertainment venues. Take a canal cruise and get acquainted with the city by water. The buffet restaurant 't IJ is a trendy restaurant with Live Cooking, which is open for breakfast and on Saturday evening for dinner. And it lives up to its play on its Dutch name, as eggs are the main ingredient in all specialities. You can choose between popular breakfast classics such as croissants, pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. Restaurant Amstelle is the hotel's à la carte restaurant, where you can enjoy culinary dishes throughout the day. The menu features international dishes with a nod to Amsterdam.
