Hotel Koningsherberg is located in the middle of the wonderful nature reserve of Strubben-Kniphortbos: the only archaeological reserve in the Netherlands. This area is known for its many ancient burial sites called hunebedden (dolmen). You can also find the remains of a prehistoric road, connecting Groningen and Coevorden. A stay at this rustic inn is a magnificent starting point for those wishing to explore this exceptional environment.
At the Koningsherberg you can book single and double rooms. The single rooms have a bathroom with a toilet and a shower. The double rooms have a bathroom with a toilet, shower and bath. You can enjoy a nice drink on the outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy a great view.
Surroundings
In 2000 the vicinity of Anloo was declared to be the first archaeological reserve in the Netherlands. This is a woody area where you will find many heaths, prehistoric monuments such as dolmen, burial mounds and old cart tracks. A walk or bike ride is a great way to encounter all of this and much more. The inn is also close to Assen and Groningen, making it easy to explore the city as well as the countryside.
Food and Drink
In the Koningsherberg you can enjoy the breakfast buffet every morning from 8:30 to 10:00 h. From 12:00 to 16:30 you can have lunch and dinner in the restaurant from 17:00 to 19:00, the restaurant closes at 21:00. The Herberg has a Dutch menu, you can order until 19:00. Outside the holidays, the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Vriendelijk ontvangen. Kamer was ruim en netjes evenals het toilet en douche bad. Bediening was prima en vriendelijk. Het eten was ook zeer goed, variatie aan warme groentes en salades. Wij zijn er 1 nacht geweest op toertocht door Nederland met de Motor, maar het is ook zeer geschikt voor meerdere dagen. Omgeving is heerlijk rustig.

lovely location, lovely people, great service, great price.
The hotel was great, but there were two problems -- the rooms were too hot, and we couldn\'t leave the windows open because a cockerel made an incredible noise starting from 5am every morning!
