Budget room does what it says on the tin

I mainly chose this hotel for its location as it is near to where I need to be in Apeldoorn. I have often used the budget rooms in this hotel (when it was still Hotel Hampshire) and they are perfectly adequate if you just need a bed for a few nights. Value for money if you can put up with a single bed. Good bathroom this time. Good self service breakfast with cappuccino to die for.

Net curtains needed a wash, window did not close properly. No tea or coffee making facilities in room.

    budged rooms = low standard

    free coffee, parking free

Budget room are very very low standard. Small and a little old fashioned room. Not quite / thin walls, very soft/old(?) mattress - Shower and wash basin direkt in the room (no separat bathroom) - All over all very low room standard / Internet and also most "normal" TV programs are NOT free!!!

    Not entirely happy -

Suited our location close to our meeting point.

Room was cold despite radiator on full temperature. €20 just to connect to the wifi. As you see to the right of this page I originally booked a room for €139 with a condition that I could not see where to add a child of 7. I subsequently paid €279. Given the bar bill (€22) & the tax (€9) are accepted, I have then paid €20 for the wifi and €89 for the child. I would accept some contribution for the child breakfast but €89 is not acceptable.

    Perfectly fine hotel

Good value for money and good location if you prefer to stay out of the town center and close to recreational areas and Apenheul primate park.

The bed was not very good.

    Great breakfast, comfortable rooms

Dusty fittings including lightbulbs and lampshades. Revolting paintings in the communcal areas, dark paintings in bedrooms = gloomy

Has own restaurant and Bar which are quite OK. I stayed in a Businessroom at a propotioanl tarif, so therefore the Price / Quality ration was very good. If you chose for a standard room (where I also stayed before), the ration would be more on a 6...

No fresh juice at the breakfeast buffet and only small selection of fresh fruit. No free Internet.

A convenient hotel that provides friendly comfort and great value

Very friendly. Very courteous and professional. Good value no frills service. Very convenient for my particular needs.

There was no clock in the room, which turned out to be problematic since my cell phone clock and alarm did not work in holland. Never could get the tv to work properly, although I had little or no time to watch it.

we needed to rest and found the Hampshire suitable

Comfortable situation for us, helpful staff, near the palace so good for tourists and for us an easy trip to town on the bus and also near to the national park - so a very suitable and pleasant hotel stay - thank you.

    Good allround impression.

There was a spider web hanging from the roof of our room (216) but overall the hotel was very clean and tidy. Room Keys instead of Cards you can take with you when you leave. I had mixed feelings leaving expensive stuff at the room when I head into the city.
