The stunning Hotel Landgoed Ekenstein in Appingedam existed as early as 1648 and is the perfect location for a romantic hotel stay in the beautiful and rustic countryside of Groningen. Landgoed Ekenstein is also wonderfully suited as a location for parties, weddings and meetings.
Landgoed Ekenstein offers 28 spacious hotel rooms; all equipped with a bath and/or a shower, a toilet, a mini-bar, a telephone, a trouser press and a television. Most rooms are housed in the hotel's modern, new wing while the honeymoon suite and several other rooms are situated in the historic part of the mansion. In addition, the mansion also has 5 separate function rooms where private parties, meetings or dinners can be held.
Surroundings
Landgoed Ekenstein is situated in Appingedam, just 20 minutes from Groningen. Apart from this estate, you'll also be able to visit many others, including Borgen. The vicinity is perfect for a cycling trip through the surrounding villages. You can go shopping in the centre of Appingedam or visit the town's museum. Appingedam was established over 800 years ago. Its history and direct surroundings therefore offer an array of surprises. The Damsterdiep canal runs past the hotel, ideal for a spot of canoeing in summer and ice skating in winter.

Breakfast is available on weekdays from 06:30 until 10:00, and at weekends from 07:30 until 10:30.Experience culinary delights whilst enjoying lunch or dinner in one of the estate's stylish and authentically furnished rooms. This is an old estate. Wonderful grounds, beautiful location, a very caring staff and ownership. The breakfast is traditional Dutch and is more than adequate. lunch and dinners are varied and of high quality.
