Fletcher Parkhotel Val Monte is a comfortable hotel fitted with all modern facilities including an indoor swimming pool and a large recreational room. The hotel also has a brasserie and a cosy bar. On clear days guests are able to enjoy a lovely view from the outdoor terrace.
Fletcher Parkhotel Val Monte has modern and comfortable rooms that come with a bath or a shower, a toilet, a hair dryer, a telephone, a television and a safe. The Deluxe Rooms are more spacious and come with a flatscreen television, a bath and a shower as well as a balcony. Guests are also able to hire a small (empty) fridge or a fully stocked mini-bar at reception. Free walking and cycling routes are available at the hotel. The outdoor terrace offers a splendid view of the garden and two polders: the Ooypolder and the Duffelt, which lie 90 metres closer to sea level.
Guests can easily travel to and from Nijmegen and the hotel offers a special rate. A taxi ride to particular pick up points in Nijmegen costs €13 per person. A bus stop is located in front of the hotel. The hotel also collaborates with 'Beauty en Massage Berg en Dal' where you can enjoy various massages or beauty treatments. You are advised to book a treatment in advance.
Surroundings
Fletcher Parkhotel Val Monte is set within beautiful hilly surroundings in an area that can best be explored on foot or by bike. Enjoy a nice excursion to the village of Groesbeek; a place where at least nine winegrowers are established making Groesbeek the largest wine village in the Netherlands. Nijmegen is also certainly worth visiting: the oldest city of the Netherlands boasts Roman remnants that are still visible today. The hotel is a short drive from the German border where you can visit the city of Cleves or smaller German villages such as Kranenburg.
Food and Drink
The Good Start Breakfast Buffet is served on Monday to Friday from 07:00 until 10:00, and at weekends from 07:30 until 10:30. A variety of freshly baked breads, sandwich fillings, fruit salads, fruit juices, dairy products and hot dishes ensure a great start to the day. For lunch, guests are able to choose a tasty dish from the select menu. The atmospheric Restaurant "Panorama" serves French inspired cuisine, complemented by seasonal specialities and a good selection of accompanying wines. The hotel bar is open daily until 23:00.

Location in cultivated parkalnd, on high ground with panoramic views over the river, and on edge of Nijmegen is very good.
Bar and restaurant good.
The hotel is not as up to date as other 4* hotels.
Room was only single glazed, and cold on arrival.
General ambience and quality felt an upgrade is needed soon.
Temperature regulated fro a radiator thromstatic valve - not a room thermostat; making room temperature control difficult.
Bathroom shower neded replacing; in the course of 1 shower 3 pieces fell off it!!

The service from the staff is very good and extremely helpful. The bar is well stocked and the restaurant food is of standard fare. The hotel is situated about 20-25 minutes from the centre of Nijmegen by the local bus service which runs every 15or 30 minutes depending the time of day. Rooms are of a good size but basic in terms of needs. Excellent swimming pool. Nice gardens to sit out and enjoy the evenings with a nice cold drink.
The hotel has no air conditioning in the most of the bedrooms and we suffered during our week's stay there during the hottest week in the Netherlands. No bathroom electrical outlets for shavers. No ice vending.

Old building that needs desperate renovation. This was a Euro40 hotel - not a Euro 80 hotel
