Hotel

Strandhotel Nassau-Bergen has a turbulent history. In WWII it had to be demolished by the occupying forces. In 1953 the hotel was rebuilt completely, after which it also went through various renovations. The hotel is made up of several buildings with a limestone colour and red roofs. The hotel fits wonderfully into the surrounding of dunes, beaches, and sea. In the enclosed hotel garden there is a heated outdoor pool with a large terrace. Between the end of May and the beginning of September (sometimes longer, weather permitting) hotel guests can use this facility for free.

The hotel has comfortable rooms with (on request) a fantastic view of the sea or the surrounding dunes. All rooms have a bath and/or shower and a toilet, as well as cable television, an electronic safe, and a telephone. Also, the rooms are equipped with a radio alarm clock and a hair dryer. Most rooms have a balcony or an outside terrace. Since the hotel is so close to the sea, this is a perfect hotel for those who love the beach. Guests can get a sun tan or go swimming on sunny days, or enjoy a nice long walk on the beach on a windy day.

Surroundings

Strandhotel Nassau-Bergen is built on top of a dune and is only 30 metres away from the sea and beach. The beautiful and wide beaches and the vast nature reserve 'Noordhollands Duinreservaat' are within walking distance. Those who enjoy catamaran sailing and surfing, tennis, golf, and miniature golf, will find many fun facilities in the hotel's surroundings. The artistic village of Bergen is well worth visiting because of its many art galleries, good restaurants, and cafés.

Food and Drink

Breakfast is served daily from 08:00 to 10:30 h. The hotel has an atmospheric bar and restaurant where guests can enjoy an extensive lunch buffet, an excellent à la carte dinner. In the summer months you can dine in the beautiful and sheltered patio.

Great location, Great staff, Great rooms

Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Rooms are clean and from the 2nd floor you have a great view at the sea.

not every room has a balcony

“My tip: You have to visit beaachpaviljoen NOORD at the beach. Absolutely fantastic”

you have to ask about heat. it isn t automatically on.

We had a suite overlooking the north sea. Gorgeous. Continental breakfast was fabulous. It was quiet. Nice cozy bar. Would stay again for sure. It s in the wealthy part of Holland. Easy drive to Bedgen, Alkmaar, and Amsterdam. Driving is a bit of a hazard. So is parking. Great time overall

Heating was a bit sporadic. Towels were rough. Open shower in nice bathroom but that meant wated all over. Also... hairdryer looked and operated like a shopvac from the 50 s.

“My tip: RENTbikes for sure. Pack warm clothing and dress in layers. The wind makes it chilly. make sure you have an international credit card. Not all places accept ones without the trip.”
