Hotel
Kaatjes Résidence was originally built as a residential home in 1860, and it was refurbished into a hotel in 1985. In 2005 the hotel was completely renovated and since then the owners have cooperated closely with the Michelin star restaurant Kaatje bij de Sluis. You can enjoy the lovely garden, with a view of the boats passing by. For business guests there is a private lounge with all conveniences to have a succesful meeting.
Kaatjes Résidence offers luxurious rooms with a warm atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with a bath tub, toilet, telephone, wireless internet, television and air conditioning. There is a suite as well, which comes with a large, comfortable bathroom with a hot tub for two people. From your room and from the hot tub you can enjoy the view of the water.
Surroundings
In former days Blokzijl was a busy port, that was used for the transport of peat. Nowadays the port is mainly used by pleasure boats, which gave a boost to tourism in Blokzijl. You can also visit the picturesque village of Giethoorn, which is known as Dutch Venice. National reserve De Weerribben can be easily reached as well. Here you can enjoy the beautiful plant and animal life during a hiking or biking trip.
Food and Drink
The breakfast is served in the lounge, on week days from 08:00 until 10:00 h. and on the weekend from 09:00 until 10:30 h. In the lounge you can read a newspaper, magazines and order a cup of coffee, tea or other drinks. The bar is open between 12:00 and 19:00 h.Kaatjes Résidence does not have its own restaurant, but across from the hotel you can visit Kaatje aan de Sluis, which has a Michelin star. In and around Blokzijl there are also several other places to have lunch or dinner.
