Hotel Restaurant It Posthûs is located in the picturesque village Burdaard. The small-scale hotel has its own restaurant as well as a waterfront terrace. Tasty, seasonal dishes are served at the restaurant. Light snacks are also available, such as sandwiches, soups or a nice pancake. Sitting on the terrace, you can enjoy watching boats pass by. The city Leeuwarden is a 20-minute drive away from the hotel.
Enjoy a stay in one of the characteristic rooms, which each have a private bathroom and a wireles Internet connection. For groups of between 10 and 100, there is a special room available for receptions. Near to the hotel you will find an indoor pool, where a reduced rate applies to hotel guests.
Surroundings
The village of Burdaard is located along the river Dokkumer Ee, offering several mooring places and a small harbour. From Hotel Restaurant It Posthûs you can enjoy a stroll to the (saw)mill De Zwaluw. From 1 May until 1 October, the mill is open to public between Tuesday and Saturday. If you want to revisit times of old, just step into museum shop 't Swietpriuwerke. It sells small presents as well as an assortment of traditional Dutch sweets.

We really enjoyed our short vacation/ weekend break at this hotel. It was quiet and the owner was very friendly and we got a nice room, big and clean.
There was a restaurant which offered tasty meals, also for vegetarians. At the nice terras we could watch the ships passing the canal every day. Very romantic place near Dokkum and the beautiful island Ameland!
