Hotel

The Hotel Johannes Vermeer is located in an old cigar factory in the heart of Delft. This beautiful little city has maintained its picturesque character since the days of Vermeer. The hotel is named after this 17th century painter, Johannes Vermeer, who was born in Delft. A contemporary of Rembrandt, Vermeer is one of the most famous painters of the Dutch Golden Age. At the Vermeer Centre you can see reproductions of all of his paintings. Vermeer's original and world-famous artworks can be admired at the Mauritshuis in The Hague, including View of Delft and the Girl with a Pearl Earring.

The luxurious and cosy hotel rooms in this listed building feature air conditioning, free wireless internet, a television and an alarm clock. Each room is named after a painting by Johannes Vermeer and offers an incredible view of one of Delft's many canals, or one of the city's churches. The former boardroom can also be booked as a hotel room. Furthermore, the hotel's charming brasserie is named after a painting by the old master. Brasserie 't Straatje van Vermeer (The Little Street) is loved by many and there's always a pleasant buzz here.

    Friendly, and perfect location

Very friendly, helpful staff. Perfect location for Delft centre.

    Noisy music at breakfast!

“My tip: As there is no lift access to upper floors access is difficult with case. We could not venture past first floor as no handrail on twisting stairs! On requesting a change of room we were given a perfectly good one on first floor. Avoid room at top!!”

Hotel Johannes Vermeer - Delft - Historic, Comfortable, and Service

    - Hotel in the center of Delft and attractions - Close to Rotterdam by freeway - Good staff, all spoke English well - Excellent breakfast

    - No dinner served but there were plenty of other restaurants within walking distance - No parking but there is a parking structure at the mall less than .2 mile / .Km - More expensive and less room than hotels in outer areas - but it is a trade-off for the location and historic conditions.

“My tip: - Both churches, especially the new church bell tower - De Kromme - Ikea (it is huge) - All museums; some closed due to winter months - De Kromme Resturant - Water Tower Restaurant (Rotterdam) - Dutch Marine (Mariner) Museum - Delft Pottery Factory”

Great location for walking to everything in Delft within minutes. Good breakfast selection and service was excellent.

No lifts (elevators) may be difficult for older guests - but OK for me personally
