Hotel
Hotel de Koophandel is a 3-star hotel that is established in a characteristic historic building. From behind the stained glass windows, through the sun blinds, you have a beautiful view on the Beestenmarkt. In 1591 this building was the birthplace of Reynier Jansz, the father of the world-famous painter Johannes Vermeer.
The rooms are all equipped with a bathroom with a shower and toilet, a telephone, television, coffee and tea making facilities and a wireless Internet connection. There are various seatings in the public areas of the hotel, where guests can relax and read some magazines. The vending machine provides cool beverages. The staff of Hotel de Koophandel will do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Surroundings
There is no other place where you will encounter so many globally appealing cultural-historical values as in Delft; Delftware, Johannes Vermeer, the link with the Dutch royal family and the Dutch East India Company. But Delft is more than history. It is also a contemporary university town. From Hotel de Koophandel it is easy to reach cities like Den Haag, Leiden or Rotterdam. A lovely stroll on the beach of Scheveningen can easily be accomplished as well.
Food and Drink
The breakfast buffet is served on weekdays from 07:00 to 09:30 h. and on weekends from 08:00 to 10:30 h. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but many restaurants and cafés can be found in the close vicinity.

Perfectly situated for city visit as well as trips to nearby cities, especially Den Hague, Rotterdam Leiden. Everything easily reached by Tram and or Train. Station Tram stop 10 mins walk. Hotel were able to supply Tram day-tickets timetables. Excellent continental breakfast gave perfect start to the day. Many neighbouring restaurants and bars for lunch and evening meals. Hotel very central for all Delft historic centres. Loved the flea market on Saturday.... delftware galore and much cheape
Nothing.
“My tip: Delft Tourist office excellent offering combi-tickets of your choice Prinsenhof Museaum, Oude Nieuwe Kerk, boat trip, walking guide.... all excellent for a full day or more. Den Hague using Tram No. 1 Maurits House (Girl with the Pearl Earing), William V gallery, plus much more. Rotterdam using train (15 mins) Museum Park (15min walk or tram 7 from station)... Boijmans van Beuningen museum worth a visit. Leiden full of history and museums, especially the university s botanical garde”

1. Central to the old city. 2. Easy walking distance to train station. 3. Helpful staff - directions restaurants
1. There was no detailed map of tbe area that was available on line showing the limits of access to the old city centre. (This is a city tourism problem, not the hotel.) 2. Information about street access by car to drop off and pick up luggage was unclear. 3. With no air-conditioning, is a fan available. Temperature during stay was 25 C .

The hotel location is excellent. The personnel is nice and helpful. Seems a very good idea to highlight the art of the Dutch masters.
I can t say that.
“My tip: There are good restaurants in Beestenmarkt and also, at close distance, near the City Hall. ”

My room was quiet and comfortable. Nice location. 10 mins walk to station. Good places to eat nearby.
No concerns at all.
“My tip: Spijshuis de Dis is next door for v. good NL menu. Le Vieux Jean is excellent, but more pricey, with a French menu.”

The guide brochure given at the hotel was helpful
The posts which do not let you in some areas was a problem at the beginning since no explanation was obvious but as soon as we understood how to deal with it was OK
“My tip: in average meals served in retaurants were more of snacks than really cooked good meals, so the prices looked to be high for the food quality”

Hotel is in a building with an interesting history and is located in a tree filled square with cafes but quiet at night
None really
“My tip: Get a room at the front to enjoy the atmosphere of the square below”

Spotless rooms and common areas, very friendly service, good buffet breakfast with reasonable choice, central location on a lovely (car-free) square.
“My tip: Lots of restaurant choices in the area. The Mexican restaurant on the same square as the hotel is fun and offers good food and friendly service for reasonable prices. Across the square is a pub/cafe with world famous (in Delft, anyway) apple pie.”

Loved the clean and spacious room with lots of windows. A rare find was a kettle to boil water with all the necessary equipment in the room to make tea which I really enjoyed.
Distance from the train station as I had heavy luggage.

plenty of space
some of the stairs will be too steep for some people

Excellent friendly hotel situated in the Beestenmarkt square in the centre of Delft. Reception very welcoming. Within walking distance of restaurants and museums in Delft and walkable for most people from the railway station. A nice breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room. Reasonably priced.
Some rooms are a bit small but OK. One flight of stairs is rather steep. Loft rooms have Velux windows so view outside is a bit restricted.

The hotel was perfect for our stay in the Netherlands. We were able to travel to Gouda and The Hague with ease. The staff was most helpful and friendly. I have recommended this hotel to an acquaintence in the US State Department. It was an ideal town for our needs.

The hotel is excellently situated, facing a vibrant square and only 5 minutes walk from central Delft. Room was attractive, spacious and comfortable. Service was friendly and helpful.
Weather was a bit hot on one night and it was hot in the room, but there was a fan, so not too bad.

Hotel location is fenomenal.
No car park and even hard to drop your luggage as I was cruising around the hotel for 30 min being not able to reach its doors. GPS was useless as some streets were closed. Parked elsewhere illegally (only 100m away) and walked to check in and get instructions where to park.
