I had a beautiful stay in the hotel

- awesome staff, lady at the reception did everything possible to meet my requirements, was able to get a room late at night, very kind and polite - cozy, modern, comfortable and always clean rooms - excellent location in the centre of Den Helder - good breakfast and coffee service in the rooms - fridge outside the rooms, in a hallway, where you can put your own food drinks - privacy, calm and relaxing stay - only 2 minutes walk from train station

- no air-conditioning, although there was a small fan to keep guest cooler during hot summer days

“My tip: - hotel is well situated for sigh-seeing the surroundings, close to café 39 s, shops, restaurants, sea and other interesting places in the town - I recommend visiting Amsterdam, takes only 1h 20min by trains, which drive every 30 minutes”

Great service, authentic atmosphere, but needs some renovation

Service was great, bed comfortable, balcony was great.

Hotel is old fashioned, they need to renovate some things without losing the authentic atmosphere. shower was not strong enough, furniture on balcony was rusty, looking old. There was an ashtray full of cigarettes left on the balcony. They forgot to remove the dirty towels from the previous guests. When mentioned they apologized and cleared it directly. Other than that it was a good stay. Ferry to Texel is further away than mentioned on the site.

Fabulous hotel in the slightly bizarre town of Den Helder. Great for cycling trips. Our second visit and we couldn't have asked for better service

Overall a good hotel

Good size room, good beds, very good bathroom, very nice service.

No internet (WLAN or cable) in the rooms. No movie channels on TV. No mini bar. Thin walls.

Very good but be so kind to watch the eggs.

lots of plus points (see above) also the very nice people who work there.

No real minus points except the being not so clear about the eggs in the morning!! So the sign 'eggs to fry' should be before the eggs and not partially hiding in the eggs so you can just read the sign as 'eggs to' and the fry can't be read. And a bigger sign also please!! But this is a minor detail, it is a great hotel.

Friendly, helpful and top value

Fantastic service - really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had to leave early, before breakfast, so packs of food and drink were sent up to us the night before. Worth eating in the restaurant as well

Spacious room with a very nice bathroom with superspacious rain shower. Good beds.

Not all staff very friendly and no elevator after midnight (4 floors). Needs airco.

Your night receptionist on the 2nd May and on our last night certainly deserves a mention. She was fantastic. Everyone else also deserves a mention but she really stood out.

The lack of access from the street for disabled persons.

I loved the central location of this hotel. Simple, easy-going hotel with lovely breakfast buffet.

Although I requested a \"Smoking room\", our room was full of heavy-smoke odour as soon as we opened the door; Not very nice. Also, while we were at breakfast, cleaning staff left our room unlocked and the door was left ajar. Not very professional and quite troublesome.
