Hotel Loodsman's Welvaren is a former inn with a 200-year-old history. It is situated in the picturesque village of Den Hoorn, in the south of Texel, near the island's oldest church from 1604. Texel has a rich history with ships from the Dutch East India Company once sailing out from here. With the woods, dunes and beach are all close by, this hotel is an ideal base for exploring Texel. The island is also easy to reach by public transport, and the hotel offers free parking. The ferry terminal is just a 10-minute drive from Loodsman's Welvaren.
The hotel offers Double Rooms with an en-suite bathroom, a radio alarm clock, a flatscreen television, a telephone, and tea and coffee facilities. There are also spacious ground floor studios (also suitable for disabled guests), complete with a private patio and a generous seating area facing the hotel's back garden. Each of the rooms and studios features a painted mural of a 17th century maritime scene. The Comfort Deluxe Room was fully refurbished in 2018. While staying in the hotel, guests can enjoy free access to the Finnish Sauna, where you'll also find a relaxation area and solarium.

Texel is the largest of the West Frisian Islands, boasting over 30 kilometres of beautiful, sandy beaches. Hotel Loodsman's Welvaren offers you the perfect base for exploring the island on foot or by bike. And if you want find out more about Texel's ecosystem, you can visit the Ecomare bird and seal sanctuary in De Koog.
