Herberg De Hondsrug borders the old villages of Eext and Annen, and is surrounded by the beautiful Drentshe Aa nature reserve. The various walking, cycling, mountain biking and scoot mobile routes will unveil the charming countryside of Drenthe. You can hire bicycles and Nordic Walking sticks at the hotel, and make free use of available maps and routes.
The tastefully furnished rooms come without a threshold, and are situated on the ground floor of the Herberg De Hondsrug. The rooms come with a bathroom with a shower, hair dryer and toilet, long beds, a telephone, a radio alarm clock and a safe. The guest area is a perfect spot to read your book or play a boardgame.

Surroundings
Herberg De Hondsrug lies in the stunning countryside of Drenthe between the villages of Eext and Annen. During a walk or cycling trip you'll encounter the famous megalithic tombs (hunebedden) and the Drentsche Aa and Hunze rivers in the Breevenen area. You can also visit the Hunebed Information Centre in Borger. Golfing enthusiasts have a wide range of courses in Assen, Glimmen, Gasselte and Veendam to choose from. Plus, lots of places can easily be reached from the hotel; Emmen Zoo is great for a family day out, and the TT circuit in Assen is also a good tip. Lovers of art can visit the Drents Museum in Assen and the Groninger Museum.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is served on weekdays from 07:30 to 09:30, and on Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 10:00. It is also possible to take a packed breakfast with you if you opt for an early departure. Packed lunches are also available. Herberg De Hondsrug does not have a restaurant, however, there are various good restaurants and eateries in the direct vicinity. In the kitchenette you can help yourself to tea and coffee or items from the fridge, at a charge.

een zeer vriendelijke ontvangst, je bent meer dan welkom! dit hotel is in 2009 bekroond tot een van de 5 schoonste hotels van nederland, en dat is te zien. voor mensen die een net hotel zoeken is dit absoluut een aanrader. prachtige ligging, je loopt zo vanuit het hotel een hoekje om en je wandelt door de bossen.

The owner was very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. Before we arrived she kept in touch with me by email, this made a late arrival time no problem. She also gave us good directions on paper on where to park and how to get to places. I will definitely recommend the herberg to other people.
