Surroundings
In the Middle Ages Enkhuizen was a harbour and fishing town, and grew to be an important centre of trade in the centuries to come. The old harbours and fortifications can still be admired today, and give the town its charming character. Enkhuizen is situated in a beautiful area of reclaimed land with plenty of possibilities for those who love walking and cycling. Water sports and fishing enthusiasts will also appreciate the proximity to the IJsselmeer lake and the town's historic canals. Enkhuizen has a number of interesting tourist attractions including the Zuiderzee Museum and the beautiful town gate. From Enkhuizen it's possible to take the ferry to Urk and Stavoren. Enkhuizen railway station is less than a kilometre from the hotel.

very central location and short walk to center of enkhuizen , breakfast good
building work in progress and to access breakfast area from our ground floor room meant going upstairs - along the length of the hotel - through corridors and then down stairs again and the same in reverse to access our room again - room adequate but overall we felt (2 couples) that cost was high for the quality of the hotel at the time we stayed there
