Great place for a great price

Location, location, location Next to train and bus station. Frequent service to nearby cities. Quiet, even though it is next to transportation hub, this place is very quiet at night (our room faced the square in front of the train station) Very friendly and helpful staff Wonderful breakfast. Staff will make a to go bag if you need to leave before breakfast is served Comfortable beds and pillows Clean rooms Haarlem city centre is within easy walking distance. Great shopping, great res

    Really cannot think of anything

“My tip: Visit the tourist information on the market square fro very helpful information on self guided walks and things to do and see in Haarlem and surroundings. Easy transportation to Amsterdam, the Keukenhof, Aalsmeer flower auction. Visit Delft (easy by train). Plan for a full day there at a minimum. Very helpful tourist info here as well”

    Enjoyable Stay in Haarlem

The hotel was comfortable and located close by for both the Railway Station and bus terminal. The Town centre was a 5-10 minute walk and was accessed easily on the same street as the hotel.

Nothing really negative to say possibly slightly disappointed at not being able to have a drink in the Hotel Bar after 11pm on a Saturday night, but there were grills and bars nearby for a drink, this was advised by the hotel staff.

“My tip: Room was clean and spacious and the Main Railway station was a two minute walk away which meant ease of access to Amsterdam ”

    A very comfortable stay

Friendly and efficient staff, very clean and comfortable room excellent location, great breakfast.

“My tip: The hotel is very well located for transport being close to train and bus station. Our room was at the side of the building (over a side street), so there was no traffic noise. ”

    Depressing

A once stately provincial hotel that has been heavy-handedly refurbished to look like any other hotel in the chain. If you fancy vinyl wall paper and plywood veneer furniture and don't mind paying 6 € per hour for internet access, this is the place to stay in Haarlem.

The railway station opposite the hotel is one big building site (probably for years to come). You have to find your own parking space and the beds are worn soft to the point where you keep rolling down the center of the mattress. And when you need a minibar the most - there is none. Makes 175 € for a double seem rather steep.

Bed was very hard didn't sleep well as a result, however that was the double beds, i do not know about the 2 single bed's together.

Included Breakfast. Helpful and friendly restaurant & front desk staff. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel room. Bar open until midnight and breakfast open until 10a. Great location. (We will stay at Golden Tulip Lion d\'Or Haarlem again!)

Placement of a hall drink vending machine OR offer the bar to sell bottled water, since there is no room refrigerator/mini bar. We used the Haarlem train station vending machines daily for purchasing our bottled water instead. (Just a convenience suggestion not a minus point.)

The location of this hotel is perfect for a stay in Haarlem and to visit Amsterdam. It´s directly in front of the train and bus station, which makes it only a 20 minute train ride to downtown Amsterdam. There are also buses (#300) directly to Schipol airport twice every 15 minutes. Breakfast is quite good and the staff very friendly. I will stay here again the next time I visit Amsterdam!

The third bed in our room was a rollaway, which I didn´t expect, but overall the quality of the room was pretty good.

Location next to train station is very convenient.

The room could have been in a Motel 6. Utterly undistinguished. Not terribly clean. No minibar!

No private parking facilities therefore difficult if you have a car but this is a general problem in Haarlem.

very congenial and helpful staff - great breakfast included with the room, and unbeatable location - easy to get to Amsterdam - anything in Haarlem within walking distance, and easy train travel to anywhere else in the Netherlands -

The Hotel is currently under exterior renovation - the windows seemed not to close properly and did not insulate the noise - the hotel is located directly across from the bus terminal and central rail station so it was difficult to sleep.

Nice reception staff, but they dont seem to have local knowledge to advise a traveler guest. I would advise the staff to try out the tourist areas and learn about Haarlem. I say this because the Hotel\'s information manual says the staff is there to assist and offer good information about where to eat and go, but when I asked the staff, they didnt have a clue because they dont go to the tourist places. So the hotel should educate it\'s staff or change the information guest manual.

Hotel was under renovation and work started at 7 am and very noisy construction workers. The reception said that the workers dont understand to make noise too early.
