The Frisian province is well-known for being an absolute paradise for those who love water sports. Hotel de Watersport is located just to the south of Sneek, in the village of Heeg. Besides 14 guest rooms, the hotel includes a restaurant and a waterside terrace, which is a great place to sit outside in beautiful weather. Simply gaze at the sloops and other boats as they sail past en route to the surrounding lakes and ponds: Weisleat, Idzegaester Poel and Hegemer Mar.
Glorious box-spring beds ensure a good night's sleep. A stay at this hotel is always accompanied by a private balcony or terrace, free WiFi, and a private bathroom with a bath. Many are tempted to get to know the Friese Meren (Frisian Lakes) by going out onto the water, but you should definitely also consider hiring a bike and exploring this gorgeous area on two wheels!

Hotel de Watersport is a perfect fit for those wishing to explore the Friese Meren (Frisian Lakes). While you're here, it's also well worth visiting one of the eleven historical towns that host the infamous Elfstedentocht skating tour, which is only held during the coldest winters when the natural ice is thick enough. Sneek, Stavoren and Hindeloopen are three of those towns, and are all easy to reach. For children, 'Kameleondorp Teherne' comes highly recommended: an amusement park entirely devoted to the Dutch children's book series 'De Kameleon', which is about two Frisian brothers and their adventures on the water.
