Van der Valk Hotel Hoorn is easily accessible given its location along the A7 motorway. You can park your car at the hotel, free of charge. A 40-minute drive will take you to Amsterdam while the city of Alkmaar is situated a little closer to the hotel. In Hoorn itself you can stroll past beautiful historic buildings or visit the Westfries Museum.

Surroundings
Van der Valk Hotel Hoorn is conveniently situated between the northern provinces and the Randstad area. From here, it's easy to take trips out, for instance to the cheese market in Alkmaar (during the summer season) or the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen. A special trip out would be a ride in the museum steam train between Hoorn and Medemblik, and water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves on the nearby Markermeer lake.

there was a storm raging outside and the window in the room did not close properly. So at 3 AM I was woken by the wind blowing thru the window making a lot of noise. It ruined my nights sleep.

Hotel is immaculate and staff are very warm and helpful. The cocktail lounge on the third floor has great atmosphere and beverages. The restaurant had a wide selection and food was delicious. The morning buffet was awesome. They were out of croissants when I went through the buffet and the chef brought two hot croissants to our table as soon as they came out of the oven. This hotel was a joy to stay in. They even have a 7 screen movie theatre in the building.

Everything was excellent. Perhaps best of all was the service which was cheerful and friendly as well as diligent and efficient. The quality of the breakfast, too, was first-class.
No negatives. The one thing that is less than perfect for me is the location. Hoorn is a very attractive town and I have previously enjoyed staying in the centre, but the setting of the hotel is pleasant and for drivers the location is ideal.

The room, the service, very clean, everything is new, extra facilities like a casino and a cinema The breakfast is perfect.
“My tip: The city Hoorn is very beautiful, authentique. Lots to see in the area. You can walk in 15 min to the city centre and to the station. In the hotel there is a Casino, a cinema, a swimming pool, a fitness. A very good restaurant in the hotel and a cosy bar lounge.”
