Hotel
The stylish 4-star Hotel Post-Plaza is located in the heart of Leeuwarden. The hotel is established in a former General Post Office and has been a meeting place for well over a century. The hotel's hub is the Grand Café. Here the barista roasts his own coffee beans, and it's a lovely spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner or a nice drink.
You'll quickly feel at home in the unique hotel rooms with a special ambiance. Each room features a flatscreen television, a laptop safe, WiFi, and tea and coffee facilities. The Comfort and Deluxe Rooms furthermore come with a luxurious bathroom with a rain shower. The slightly larger Superior Rooms have a lovely rain shower and a bath. Or stay in the hotel's spacious Suite for the ultimate experience. The Suite comes with a cosy seat by the fireplace, a bath, and a king-size box-spring bed.
Surroundings
The hotel is 1200 metres from the central station, and just a two-minute walk from the centre of Leeuwarden. The city centre boasts many nice shops, listed buildings and canals. In various places in the city you'll find stone slabs featuring poems, forming Leeuwarden's poetry route. Situated near the hotel is the Fries Museum, with its collection of highlights from Frisian and Dutch modern art. It's also easy to take a day trip to the West Frisian Islands or the Frisian lakes.
Food and Drink
The lovely Grand Café offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, a delicious Afternoon Tea and drinks. The coffee beans are home roasted by barista Jesse, and you can take a little peek at the process whilst visiting the Grand Café. Breakfast is available on Monday to Friday from 07:00 until 10:00, and on Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 until 11:00. If the breakfast buffet is a little too much and you'd prefer to have something lighter, you can order separate breakfast dishes such as a freshly baked croissant with jam. The Grand Café is open on weekdays from 07:00 until 00:00, and at weekends from 08:00 until 01:00. Sandwiches and dishes from the menu are available to order throughout the day.

Great location with very friendly staff. Enjoyed the almost quirky lay-out of the place. The food was good and decently priced. The comfort room we stayed in was perfect for a short stay with an excellent large bed. We particulary liked the darkness of the room, there was not a lot of light coming though the curtains.
Had to struggle to think of something. If you want to be really picky, and extra bath mat would be nice as water from the (brilliant) shower quickly soaks the one you have. The ladies in our party suggested to have bigger shower towels.

The breakfast was far better than we expected and experienced in Amsterdam. Hotel staff were friendly enough to keep our baggages even after our check-out.

In vergelijk met veel duurdere hotels is dit nog steeds de kampioen. Kritiek op dit hotel is niet mogelijk. Wat er ook voor probleem zich aandient, de staf heeft steeds een oplossing. Ook wanneer men panne heeft met de auto, wat toch helemaal buiten de taak van het hotel gaat, is er voor een oplossing gezorgt. Verlof zonder zorgen. Neem een kamer bij Post-Plaza Leeuwarden.
Ook al denk ik mij gek, geen minus punten.

Very convenient. Comfortable. Good welcome. Valet parking.
Nice food - dinner and breakfast. Room easy to access.
A room ror the handicapped but with two mirrors in the bathroom - one too low (even for a wheelchair) and one too high for normal people. Washbasin too low. Shower did not have grip rails.

Extremely friendly and professional staff. Luxurious room with very comfy bed. The restaurant had a great menu and the meals I ate were excellent, (fine dining!). I would highly recommend the Lourens set 3 course menu, very good value for money also. The best stay I have had in a hotel.
