Hotel
Amrâth Hotel DuCasque's refined interior is inspired by the original Art Deco style of the listed building in which it is established. This style arose in the 1920s, also known as the Roaring Twenties.Architect Ray Kentie, who also designed the renovation of Grand Hotel Amrâth in Amsterdam, was responsible for the aura and layout during the renovation. Upon arrival at the hotel you'll encounter its sheer ambience of luxury and style. The furniture in the rooms has been completely updated, as have the bathrooms. Attention has also be paid to particular details, notice for instance the recurring pattern of the carpets attuned to the building's Art Deco style.
The rooms offer air conditioning, LED lighting, WiFi and flatscreen televisions. In short, an extraodinarily unique hotel on one of Maastricht's most breathtaking locations, the Vrijthof square. You'll also find many cosy restaurants, bars and shops in the direct vicinity.
Surroundings
Maastricht is a city with a rich history and is located on the river Maas. Discover lovely restaurants, shops, boutiques as well as many buildings that are listed. The Bonnefantenmuseum and the bisschopsmolen are also interesting sights to visit. Outside of the city you'll be able to enjoy walking and cycling through the Limburg landscape. Visit the marl caves or encounter the Maas Valley by means of a boat trip. With Maastricht as your base it's easy to visit Liège and Aachen; two historic cities brimming with culture.
Food and Drink
Every morning a breakfast buffet is available from 07:00 until 10:00 on weekdays and from 08:00 until 10:30 during holidays and weekends. The hotel does not have a restaurant. However, with the variety of terraces, bistros, grand cafés and predominantly French oriented restaurants, you will find an abundance of culinary possibilities in the vicinity. There is simply an unprecedented amount of choice to get acquainted with the Burgundian cuisine of the Southern Netherlands.

The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, with parking across the street. Good quality rooms and beds
The style is old, hence the quality is new and well maintained
“My tip: its a great city enjoy the good food and drinks and relax”

The list is endless, from the minute we arrived reception staff were exceptional, my thanks go to Marina who helped my wife see me through an illnes during my stay to the point of arranging transport to a out of hours pharmacy to get medicines, and helping her get everything for my comfort ( well done and thank you). The rooms are spotless and comfortable and I would recommend a stay here to anyone.
Th only negative about the location is not the hotels fault ( and we were aware of this before booking) is the bar below is noisy till early hours, not a big issue if you know.
“My tip: The reason we booked was for the Andre Rieu concert, and to add to this we booked at the Momus cafe for the concert meal and without a doubt a perfect choice and would recommend people do the same. Tke a stroll round the town and enjoy the sights, the churches are well worth the camera view as is the whole town of Maastricht.”

Excellent location just beside Vrithof, restaurants, bars & shopping district.
We didn't take the breakfast option as we thought €15.50 was too expensive. Surprised to discover that restaurants & shops don't open until after 11 am.
“My tip: The old timer bus trip & boat trip on Maas river was lovely. Gauchos restaurant on the Vrithof was very nice. Steaks were very expensive though. Also wine was quite pricy. Staff very friendly.”

Terrific location.Friendly efficient staff.Room price very good.
Noisy at night time until very late! Also early morning noise. Breakfast is pricey if you are not having a cooked one.
“My tip: Huge choice of cafes, bars, restaurants on your doorstep.”

Vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijt goed.
“My tip: Hotel ligt erg centraal. In het hotel, maar ook in de omgeving kun je goed eten en drinken. Winkels en bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand.”

Very convenient. Friendly and helpful staff.
Should have a fan, it's very hot in the room when u cannot open your window or patio door to sleep because next door can also walk over.

Central; comfortable; very helpful and courteous reception at all times; reception staff all spoke very good English. We had a late check in and we didn't have to call them internationally - we just wrote them an email and it was ok.
One of 2 rooms booked had a terrible smell of drainage even though it was clean, which was changed immediately on arrival when we complained. We were lucky they had an empty room. If they hadn't we would have changed hotel completely cos smell was bad. Hopefully they took note and fixed it. Tea and coffee is available free but in reception not in room - for a 4star hotel this is a minus point. Sorry.

location is great. you step out of the door and you're in the middle of town with all the liveliness.
everything is fairly old fashioned. needs some renovation. mattresses were too soft and the bed isn't 1 big bed (not nice if you're there as a couple). tv remote wasn't working (usually don't watch tv in a hotel, but after walking the whole day we wanted to chill out.needed to pick 1 channel unless you got up the whole time to see what else was on). a lot of noise from the church bells can be heard in the room (we had the deluxe room with the balcony overlooking vrijthof) in the morning. get woken up at 7:30am or something.

Good location and good staff. The room we were put in for the last night was certainly an improvement.
I cannot imagine how this hotel had 4 stars. Very poor quality for a 4 star hotel. The room for the first 3 nights permanently smelled of sewerage and drains.

Efficient and friendly welcome and service both at Reception and at Breakfast. Good sized and comfortable bedroom, modern bathroom. Excellent view across Vrijthof from our bedroom and our table at breakfast. Ideal for visiting TEFAF and enjoying Old Maastricht as well as the newer shopping centres and nearby restaurants. My fifth stay at Du Casque and will return next year. The weather was fantastic.
Would prefer a double bed rather than the two close together single beds.

Excellent location for the centre of Maastricht. Spacious room. Microwave available for guests to use. Hotel and room very comfortable and nice atmosphere in hotel.
No kettle in room, tea / coffee facilities beside lobby so you have to go downstairs to get a cup of tea or coffee. Room was at front of hotel so road outside was sometimes noisey at night time.

Good location. The hotel was clean. We loved the elevator. The car parking was good but cost â¬20 but then it is in the city centre. Very helpful, nice staff.
We had to change our booking but on leaving it cost €10 more than I was told on the phone but we were too tired to argue the extra. The hotel was clean but falling apart. It could do with a DIY person to fix broken ceiling tiles, do some painting etc. It was clear that no money has been reinvested recently in the hotel to keep up appearances. A certain Olde World Charm gone slightly too far.

Front desk service is excellent and 24-hour. Private parking (at a charge) is excellent. It is very private, safe, and ultra clean.
There is bar next door. In the middle of the World Cup series, this bar stayed noisy until 4:30 am. If you need quiet, pick a room in the back, not one facing the street. This was my 6th time staying at this hotel and noise was never a problem before.

staff were very nice, especially the woman running the ontbijt
bathroom had foul smell which made room funky. The whole corridor where the room was also had this foul smell. Carpet was well past needing to be changed.
