As of mid-2018, the centre of Maastricht has a new addition in Hotel Monastère Maastricht. As the name suggests, this hotel is based in a former monastery. This classic building, which dates back to the 14th century, has been transformed into a hotel that exudes Parisian chic.
The hotel has 52 gorgeous guest rooms and a restaurant that specialises in French cuisine, while its café and orangery bring together indoors and outdoors. Truly everyone is welcome here: young and old, men and women, families and groups of friends, people of any orientation.
Surroundings
The area's absolute hotspots are the Basilica of Saint Servatius, the Basilica of Our Lady, and Vrijthof square. But the city of Maastricht has so much more to offer! On a day out shopping, you can wander around plenty of trendy shops, popular department stores and unique boutiques. Have a rest on one of the city's beautiful squares, where you'll find an abundance of outdoor terraces. If you're looking for some culinary delight, there is no shortage of restaurants either. In short, there is always something to do in this charming city.
Food and Drink
Every morning, the hotel provides a delicious breakfast buffet. It is served from 07:00 until 11:00 on weekdays, and from 07:30 until 11:00 at the weekend. At the restaurant, open daily between 07:00 and 22:00, you can sit back and relax as you enjoy the quality service and glorious French dishes. Have a seat for a delightful lunch or elaborate dinner. If weather permits, why not head over to the outdoor terrace at the front of the hotel to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or to order something from the menu. The bar, open daily between 07:00 and 01:00, serves an array of cocktails and is a lovely spot to have a drink and a chat.

We spent extra for the suite with tub and porch, and it was well worth it.
There were piles of towels and linens in the hallway the entire length of our stay. It was a bit unsightly but not a major bother.

The hotel is very well located- not far away from the shopping streets. Restaurants are also in the neighborhood. The rooms have a mini-bar. Even our room, located on the busy side of the street, was very calm
No cupboard in the room - only a few hooks. Carpet on the floor ( but it is a new one)
