De Berkenhof apartment complex is located north of the village Nes. The complex consists of a variety of apartments ranging from 2 to 6 persons, all of which are very child-friendly. The 4 and 6-person apartments all come with a south-facing garden. The 3-person apartments that include 2 bedrooms are also located on the ground floor, but do not have direct access to the playing fields. The 2-person apartments either have a patio or a balcony and guests in the 2-person studios on the second floor can make use of the patios in the communal garden.
All apartments come with free wireless Internet, a fully-fitted kitchen with a dining area, a seating area with television, central heating and separate bedrooms with large beds and bedding. Towels are not included. The studios do not have separate bedrooms or a balcony.
Opposite the apartments you'll find the educational Natuurcentrum Ameland and behind it the (water) recreation area of de Vleijen. It is also possible to hire a bike at De Berkenhof.
Surroundings
De Berkenhof Nes Ameland apartment complex lies just north of the village of Nes. You'll encounter several nice historic Commodore's houses in the village, as well as a modern shopping and nightlife area. For children, there is the Modelspoor Ameland, a true point of interest with more than 120 different operational train models taking you through various landscapes. For an active way to pass the time you can climb Ameland's 55-metre high lighthouse with its 236 steps.
