Hotel van Heeckeren lies in the middle of the bustling centre of Nes, a mere 1 kilometre from the vast beaches of Ameland, where you can enjoy the lovely sea breeze during all seasons. After a long day on the beach you can either unwind at Hotel Van Heeckeren or take a stroll through the village of Nes. This fishing village has an aged and unique atmosphere. Whales teeth can be found outside several historic houses, indicating that whalers formerly resided here.The hotel lies within a 20-minute walk of the ferry terminal in Hollum; only a 10-minute drive.
Van Heeckeren Grandcafé lies within a walking distance of 200 metres of the hotel. The hotel itself has its own beach club, 'The Sunset'. Spa cenrte `t Badhuys can be found in the centre of Nes, just a short walk from the hotel. Here you can pamper yourself with various treatments including massages and an array of spa products. If you want to learn more about the unique Wadden area, you can take an excursion organised by the Tourist Information Office. And by digging up a bit of the seabed you can discover a wealth of riches and varying forms of seabed life. You may also come across little flatfish or crabs, which are left behind in the holes created by the ebb.

The breakfast did not meet the expectations and was not included in the price.
