The 10 highly comfortable rooms on the ground floor include first-rate beds, a bath, toilet, telephone, and a television. Both the hotel's rooms and its restaurant are fitted with a revolutionary, environment-friendly air conditioning system.
As early as 1930, Hotel Konbanwa Nijmegen already enjoyed a reputation as a hospitable, family-friendly hotel. However, it became known internationally due to role it played during the Second World War. After serving as a German headquarters for four years, it was regained by the allies on 17th September 1944, who went on to recover Nijmegen from enemy control. It was here that none other than General James Gavin of the 82nd American Airborn Division forged plans to advance over the river Waal. In order to commemorate this momentous period, an artwork was unveiled on the north side of the hotel in 1954.
Surroundings
You can visit the Afrika Museum, the sauna and spa complex De Thermen, and the Liberation Museum 1944-1945; all are located within a few kilometres of Hotel Konbanwa Nijmegen. A trip to the historic town of Nijmegen (4 kilometres away) is a must for shopping, going out, and endless city walks through medieval streets and past Roman monuments. If you head a few kilometres south you'll quickly encounter the friendly 'wine village' of Groesbeek. What's more, golfing enthusiasts can practise their swing at Het Rijk van Nijmegen.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the optional 3-Course meal prepared by the hotel chef - it was a very good price, excellent presentation, and quite good. We would highly recommend the Couage Sionshof to our friends.

Friendly staff. After we filed the complaint we were offered a free stay of full restitution of the room price. The manager was extraordinary professional in handling this and was able to explain the situation so we could understand the situation. They are starting up; give it some time and this will be an excellent hotel.
The night staff that night did not know how to help us with the not functioning air conditioning. The standard rooms are small if it is hot and the air conditioning does not work. That is why we decided to leave in the middle of the hot night and file a complaint. a little odd; at night they close up the lounge so you can only stay in your room not what you would like when you are in for a longer stay.
