Mercure Nijmegen Centre lies adjacent to Nijmegen train station and is within walking distance of the lively shopping streets. The hotel is an excellent starting point from which to explore the oldest city of The Netherlands. The city was founded over 2000 years ago when the Romans built the army camp Novio Magus high above the river in the middle of the woods and hills. The names of the hotel's restaurant and bar, Romulus and Remus, still allude to a certain pride taken in Nijmegen's Roman past.
The hotel has an atmospheric bar and restaurant. Guests can also relax in the sauna or on the sunbeds. All hotel rooms are non-smoking. The luxury rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a safe, mini bar, satellite/cable television and wireless Internet. The hotel offers five meeting rooms for business guests. This is a great place to stay clean, pleasant, modern surroundings very friendly, very helpful staff excellent value for price great food comfortable, clean bedroom and bath.
It was hot in Nijmegen, and although the hotel and bedroom air-conditioning worked well, I wanted my room to be cooler than it could be. I had asked in advance for a room fan, but the staff very politely explained on my arrival that they did not have any. Given the warmer summers of late, I believe some room fans should be available for guests who ask for them.
“My tip: Do take the breakfast option the breakfast buffet is very good and good value. The hotel is right next to the central train station, so very convenient, and there are frequent Intercity trains between Nijmegen and Schipol (Amsterdam airport). Do visit the old city (it s easily within walking distance) and try the local beers.”

The rooms are very quiet despite the trainstation

Uitstekende ligging ten opzichte spoorwegen.
De kamer en wc zijn schoon. Er zijn voldoende handdoeken.
Betreft het ontbijtbuffet: De uitgebakken spek was gewoon ontbijtspek. Advies is om echte Engelse bacon te gebruiken. behalve de smaak is deze bacon minder zout.
