Pleasant hotel in nice area; friendly personel.
Contrary to our previous stay the view from the room (upon a roof) was rather disappointing; we did not make a reservation in advance for the restaurant which was fully booked. Quality of the meal at the Grand Cafe was for the price/quality ok although we had to wait quite some time (almost an hour) for the main course.
“My tip: If you want to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant make the reservation in advance; museum Belvédère in Heerenveen is recommended, not only for the high quality of the expositions but also for the nice café and bautiful surroundings.”

Personeel was erg vriendelijk.

The staff are very friendly
The bathrooms could be better not as clean as it should be for a 4 star hotel.

the venue and position lend very well to people wanting to take it easy , we used the location at Oranjewoud to unwind during a busy month in the Netherlands
upon entering the pool shower area ,which is the through way to the pool, I was surprised to find a well formed naked lady working up a lather.I knew the Dutch are a liberal bunch, but perhaps a small sign requesting pool patrons to wear swimming atire in public shared areas might be appropriate.[

Beautiful setting, very comfortable rooms and bed. Quiet. Ideal for biking or walking in Orangewoud Park. Easy access by bike to Heerenvenn Centrum. Staff very helpfull and well informed
Care needed to locate hotel from motorway exit. Area around hotel can be very busy on weekends

Pleasant location, quite and lot of things to do in the area. Very nice and friendly staff.
Although known that rooms are only availlabe from 2.00pm we arrived a bit earlier and despite 3 rooms booked there was not even a welcome drink or other offer made to us. First night was perfect but second night a lot of musquitos kept us awake. Some special light /trap devices or at least spray after cleaning may help to cure the problem easily and provides that comfort guest loves at such nice location. Simple but needs to be done routinely.

Cycle hire and lots of cycle paths/countryside to explore. Peaceful location. Playground nearby good for kids. Very good breakfast plenty of choice. Nice facilities swimming pool hot tub etc, also lots of spa treatments offered at extra cost all of which seemed very good.
Maps of cycle paths would be useful. If you prefer to be in town centre this is not for you as you really need a car, saying that though it\'s only a short 5-7 minute drive.
