Hotel
The ferry headquarters, in which Havenhotel Texel is established, dates back to 1932 and exudes a feeling of days gone by. The Texel Steam Boat Company (TESO) used to run from here to the mainland, until the ferry company was taken over in 1962. Since then, the former headquarters has been, and still is, one of the most special places to stay on Texel. The hotel features many photos and objects from the TESO period.
The hotel has six stylish and trendy rooms, of which the various colours refer to the colours of the island. Each room offers a great view of the harbour or the Wadden Sea. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower/toilet, minibar, free coffee and tea making facilities (Senseo), safe, hair dryer, television, air conditioning and free wireless Internet. All rooms also come with a pair of binoculars for bird watching.
Texel is attractive in every season. It offers plenty of sun hours for those that love to spend a day on the beach. Or put on a warm coat on a cold day for a lovely walk. In cosy villages such as Den Burg and De Koog you will find restaurants, cafés and shops that sell maritime souvenirs. For people of all ages it is fun to visit the centre for the Wadden islands and the North Sea EcoMare, where you can watch how seals are fed.
Surroundings
There is lots to experience in the direct surroundings of Havenhotel Texel. Right in front of the hotel you can book a lovely 2-hour tour of the Wadden Sea on the excursion boats TX10 and TX20. While sailing across the stunning Wadden area, there is a big chance you will spot some seals sprawling on the sandbanks. On a rainy day, a trip to the Maritiem Juttersmuseum is certainly recommended. The beach at Texel is one of the cleanest in Europe. Here you can get to grips with unusual sports such as kiting, wind or kite surfing, blo-karting, diving, sailing on a catamaran or canoeing.

Comfy bed, free parking, good location, quiet at night, good breakfast included, reasonable tariff, good shower
Pictures on website showed expansive harbor views, but they were taken from the edge of a small balcony cut into the roof. Views from the room were much lesser than advertised. Hanging space but no other storage = inconvenient. Safe was not working when we arrived but was fixed fairly readily.
“My tip: Don t miss Ecomare or the lighthouse and dinner at Wej Jef s.”

If you are on Texel and looking to get away from the crowds at the beach, I highly recommend the Haven Hotel. We had a very comfortable, well decorated room with a great view of the water. Excellent location for exploring the quiet little hamlet of Oudeschild and just generally getting away from things for a while.
None.
