Along the 'Badweg', which runs through the village of Schiermonnikoog towards the beach, one can find Hotel Duinzicht in the middle of the dunes. This hospitable hotel is a popular accommodation for guests that love a good atmosphere and excellent food. Within walking distance one can discover the widest beach in Europe, which lends itself perfectly for a long walk. The village of Schiermonnikoog dates from 1760. Besides characteristic houses it offers nice restaurants and several bars. The souterrain of the hotel houses a sauna and a solarium in the relaxing area 'De Koele'. These facilities can be used at an additional charge; a visit can be reserved at the bar. Across from the hotel there are tennis courts and a heated outdoor pool. Hotel guests can take a plunge in the pool for free, between (approximately) May and September. A children's play area can be found next to the outside terrace of the hotel. All hotel rooms offers a bathroom with a shower and a toilet. Furthermore the rooms are equipped with a television, a telephone and wireless Internet.
Surroundings
From Hotel Duinzicht Schiermonnikoog you can go for a beautiful walk along the endless beach. In the summertime one of the popular activities is 'wadlopen', which is a hiking tour in het mudflats. The area also lends itself perfectly for sailing and other water sports. At the Badweg one can find the 'Bezoekerscentrum' of the national park 'Schiermonnikoog', which offers information about the island.
Food and Drink
The breakfast buffet is served from 08:30 to 11:00 h. Between 10:00 and 21:00 h. guests can visit the restaurant for lunch and dinner. Restaurant Duinzicht has a good reputation. In this classic à la carte restaurant the staff serve meat and fish specialities and vegetarian menus. Their signature dish is 'Boeuf Stroganoff', which is prepared at the table. Next to the fireplace or on the outside terrace one can enjoy a nice drink.

A very friendly hotel, very easygoing, I felt at home right away.

Location! Bus stop is right in front of the hotel. On the edge of the small village within a few meters to everything, bike rental, cafes, shops, grocery store, and easy walking distance to the beach. Comfortable beds, nice shower, good breakfast, large clean room, free internet, garden view, peaceful ambiance! As the Dutch say-- Gezellig!

The variaty at breakfast was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The light shining through the window at night - but I put a pillow in the window to reduce it.
