't Schippershuis Terherne lies in the picturesque village of Terherne. It's only a short walk from the hotel to Sneekermeer lake, where you can go sailing, waterskiing or take a boat trip across the lake and its surrounding waterways. Surroundings
't Schippershuis Terherne is beautifully situated in the water-abundant province of Friesland. Nature lovers can enjoy long walking and cycling trips or even hire a boat at Sneekermeer lake. It is also possible to moor your own boat at the hotel. The recreational village of De Kameleon lies close to the hotel and provides a great day out for children; the setting of the Dutch children's book series 'The Chameleon' has been completely recreated here. A 20-minute drive will take you to Sneek. This old town has many cosy terraces, museums and historic buildings. The shopping is also great here. Other Frisian cities such as Leeuwarden, Heerenveen and Drachten can also be reached within a 30-minute drive.
