Hotel

The history of Château St. Gerlach dates back to the twelfth century. Stylish baroque gardens and a luscious rose garden form part of the estate on which Château St. Gerlach has been running its hotel and restaurant since 1997. Simply indulge in luxury and comfort in this historic setting.

On the country estate guests can make free use of the indoor Roman pool, the sauna and the Turkish steam bath. During nice weather, the large sliding doors are opened allowing you to enjoy the sunshine outside. Ultimate pampering pleasure can be found in the Spa & Wellness, where you are most welcome to luxuriate in all kinds of body treatments. You can also relax in the splendid lounge or on one of the terraces in the surrounding gardens.

The hotel rooms feature a bathroom with a bath or shower, a toilet, a television, a telephone, a mini-bar, a safe, and free access to wireless Internet. Besides hotel rooms, Château St. Gerlach also offers spacious apartments. The atmospherically furnished Family Apartments are very suitable for families with young children, groups up to four persons or a business stay. The apartment consists of a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and a guest toilet. Several apartments come with a terrace or a balcony with a view of the Geuldal Valley.

Surroundings

Château St. Gerlach lies in Valkenburg aan de Geul. The hotel's beautiful estate is situated in a splendid nature area through which the River Geul meanders. Limburg's landscape is characterised by hills, and the Wilhemina Tower offers you gorgeous views of the area. Furthermore, the ruins of Valkenburg Castle are a popular attraction in this region.

Food and Drink

An extensive breakfast buffet is served on weekdays from 07:00 until 10:00, and at weekends from 08:00 until 11:30. During breakfast in the pavilion, you can enjoy views of the herb garden and the Geuldal Valley. The former living quarters, kitchen and dining room of Baron de Selys de Fanson are the decor of the restaurant. The menu features French bistrot dishes with a contemporary twist. The team cooks with ingredients from their own estate and from the region. The honey from our own bees is an important ingredient in the preparation of High Tea sweets. In good weather you can take a seat on the Bistrot terrace for lunch, High Tea or dinner. For a latte macchiato, espresso or cappuccino from our barista you can sit down Mayor Quicx, Coffee & More located in the homely castle farm at the entrance of the estate.

    Amazing!

Picked up at train station by hotel van. Beautiful room and surroundings. Incredible value for the price. On site restaurant was good and also a few great little restaurants an easy walk away in town. Pool, gardens were luxurious. Will definitely go back again.

    Very comfortable and peaceful hotel

Extremely pleasant hotel with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. I also enjoyed a very good meal in the Bistrot.

My only slight criticism was that my room could have had stronger lighting - perhaps controllable via a rheostat switch as I was working in the room one day and found it a little dark. The seat for the desk - I was working on my laptop PC - was a little low.

Very nice settings. Helpful staff. The man who checked me in remembered me by name when i left. That shows interrest in their guests.

The hotel is stylish, friendly staff and excellent food.

The staff were friendly and helpfull. The location is perfect plenty of space to relax, a real feeling of escaping to the country. The rooms were big and well decorated.

I found the louge and bar area a little dark.

Front desk rang ahead to keep the bistro open, as I arrived late. Free upgrade. Grounds and overall setting are picture perfect for a relaxing stay.
