Quiet hôtel

The location of the hôtel near à little lake. A walk around is possible.

No air conditionned but a fan is in the Room.

Good hotel with great service

Location, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent room and spa facilities, excellent buffet breakfast. No charge for overnight parking

Housekeeping on the third day of our stay was very poor. The evening menu in the restaurant was in my view very limited and we considered overpriced for the food and portion size. Some occasional noise from a nearby railway level crossing and rail traffic, but not overly intrusive and the lakeside setting makes up for this.

What is wrong with Bilderberg?

A nice place at a nice location

The receptionist just was unpleasant. She had an attitude. Problems with getting internet on my Laptop. NO CNN on the TV in the room on the night of the US Elections. The restaurant chef thinks the world of himself but the dinner (5 people) that he produced was mediocre in quality . Had a poor experience at another Bilderberg hotel in Venlo-Tegelen last year. Complained directly to Bilderberg but they don't seem to care.

Overall a nice hotel

Nette kamer, schoon. Goed zwembad. Kleurboekje voor de kinderen bij aankomst. Checkout 12 uur en late stay tegen kleine bijbetaling.

Gerelateerd aan de kamerprijs: Wifi tegen betaling. Warme gerechten bij het ontbijt liggen op een koude schaal en worden niet warm gehouden. Verder wel prima ontbijt. Er was geklust in het zwembad, maar dit was nadien niet opgeruimd. Bedden op wielen iets minder comfortabel en schuiven constant uit elkaar (2 1persoons bedden). Kamer zag er net als de rest van het hotel zeer netjes uit. badkamer iets verouderd, net iets te krap en douchen in bad.

Wonderful setting, wonderful staff

We thought the staff were wonderful, each person who dealt with us could not have been more helpful, particular Brenda who went out of her way to enable us to get replacement medication, the original of which was stolen after our car was broken into in Belgium on our way to the hotel. We can't praise the staff highly enough for all they did for us. The only, very small, negative for me is that I would have liked a slightly larger menu choice on both the a la carte and the bar menu and we do like our vegetables so more greens would have been good but I do realise that this comment is a very English view.

A flawed four star.

Excellent location. Room very comfortable though the shower over the bath arrangement could be improved upon.

Restaurant service not brilliant, "extra bread" never arrived, running out of cutlery at breakfast, little things but irritating. Dinner menu and wine list we felt were limited, and not such good value,and a bottle of Montepulciano at Euro 37.50 is too much.

Quiet, friendly, haven in the woods

Beautiful location. Enjoyed walking in the woods more than Floriade (which was rather short of flowers!) Caught a deer by surprise - lovely photo in the middle of a clearing. So nice being serenaded by bird song once we woke in the morning. Lovely view across the lake from the restaurant. Reception were very helpful with printing e-tickets for the show and for the flight. Tasty meal, beautifully served on the first night. Breakfast was reasonably varied and tasty.

Poor menu selection. One meal was too salty. A little expensive, especially 3E for hot water for my own teabag but I did get chocolates with it, so not all bad.

“My tip: Floriade was not worth it - RHS shows in England are much better for keen gardeners. There is a small swimming pool (saw no mention on the web page) so don't forget your costume. Good place to take a bicycle as there are lots of cycle paths through the woods. ”

Best place we stayed.They rent bikes so you can bike to Floriade 2012. Breakfast included in the price is ,not only great,but value added.

A little bit of rural paradise near Venlo city centre.

Beautiful location. Good food and service. What would make it even better would be if bicycles could be hired from the hotel for those people who can't bring their own. Walking trails nearby were recommended by family in the area, Could these be advised by the hotel staff?

Bed was a bit too soft for us and the water pressure in the shower could have been a bit better. But these are very minor points in what was a lovely break in Holland.

A perfect place to stay

This hotel is in the perfect location for a holiday, short break or overnight stay. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was large, comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant overlooking the lake served excellent food - a very pleasant experience.

Rather formal atmosphere in the restaurant for dinner. Not made to feel welcome to start with - our name wasn\\\'t on the guest list! \r\nThe lake is beautiful but why not clean up the fallen trees.
