In the heart of Friesland and near the provincial capital of Leeuwarden. The charming and characteristic Hotel & Restaurant WeidumerHout is established in an authentic farm that dates back to 1867, and is surrounded by a splendid 3.5-hectare estate. The building's history has been preserved wherever possible, such as in the lounge where the cows once mooed.
Situated in the middle of the meadow are 10 unique hotel cubes, each with 1 luxury hotel room offering privacy and a beautiful view! The cubes come with wall to ceiling windows and the sense of sleeping outdoors. Enjoy a beautiful sunset in the summer or a beautiful thunderstorm in the winter with splendid lightning. The hotel furthermore has 20 tastefully furnished and comfortable rooms. The rooms come with every convenience including designer furniture, Fair-trade linen, a television and a bathroom with a bath and/or shower. In addition, it is also possible to make use of the sauna on request. There is an orchard on the estate where you can quietly enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. Weidumerhout is a special experience in every season and certainly a place to remember!
Surroundings
Hotel & Restaurant WeidumerHout is the ideal base if you're looking to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. Put on your walking boots or hop on your bike and venture out into the countryside. The surroundings are perfect for a splendid walk or endless bike ride through the characteristic Dutch landscape. The hotel is situated near the river Zwette, which is part of the famous Dutch eleven cities route. You'll need to be very lucky to skate this route but it's also possible to bike it! Trips to Sneek, Franeker and of course Leeuwarden are easy to undertake from here. Leeuwarden is only 6 kilometres from the estate and a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Go shopping, visit the Fries Museum, the Saint Boniface church and the Prinsentuin.
Food and Drink
Awake to birdsong, feeling rejuvenated and head to the deliciously fresh breakfast buffet, available daily from 08:30 until 10:30. You can enjoy a wonderful dinner in Restaurant WeidumerHout. The most delicious dishes are conjured up with a great love and attention for the produce and ingredients. The kitchen is open from Monday to Friday between 18:00 and 20:15. Dinner is only possible upon reservation.

We had a fantastic stay in the hotel. Our room had a wonderful view with the entrance to the garden and hotel by itself well designed and maintained. Great location too, 30 min. of relaxing bicycle ride to Leeuwarden through the beautiful landscapes of Friesland. Highly recommended

We were grateful for a warm and friendly welcome after a long journey and were made to feel at home immediately. Our room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Furnishings all through the hotel were of a high quality. Staff were patient, charming and attentive to our needs. We were loaned maps and given some great tips on places to visit, each and every suggestion we followed and thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back with the family and look forward to our next visit.
Food was delicious and all staff attentive to our needs. The chef couldn t have been more helpful or friendly. They were happy to cook his beef longer as it was a little rare. There was no choice on the menu and if anything that was the only negative but it certainly wasn t a problem as the food we were offered was absolute quality and very tasty. Excellent breakfast.

The owners of the inn did everything imaginable to make our stay enjoyable--The dinners were amazing. A relaxing setting for parents with young children. They can run free and you can have a glass of wine and not worry!!
The cleaning staff was very anxious to clean our rooms and started before we were packed up...felt very rushed out.
