Hotel Resort Landgoed Westerlee is established in a renovated farmhouse. The former barn of this beautiful listed building dates back to 1910. Delightfully decorated rooms are housed under characteristic beams. Each room has an individual style, but all rooms come with a king-size bed, a flatscreen television, a wireless telephone, free WiFi, a radio, a minibar and a safe. Naturally, the rooms feature a luxury bathroom, complete with a double hot tub. The view from the rooms is simply splendid, and a number of rooms even boast a private roof terrace.
This old barn now shelters a spa with a wonderful sauna. The spa also has a heated outdoor swimming pool and a sunbathing area. Guests can make use of the sauna at a cost of €5 per person.
Another special feature at this rural address is the à la carte restaurant; the food and atmosphere is sure to please any true gastronomer. Outside, there is a garden house which functions as a regional shop, along with plenty of terraces where you can relax. Located next to the hotel and the restaurant's terrace is a large orchard with hundreds of fruit trees, specifically old Groningen varieties. Those wishing to enjoy a stroll can visit the park with its winding paths.
Surroundings
Guests never really want to leave the lovely estate of Hotel Resort Landgoed Westerly, although there are plenty of things to see and do in the area. Oldambt is an old part of the province of Groningen, with endless views extending all the way out to the mud flats. Mud flat walking is highly recommended and a unique experience. Urban life can be found in the historic city of Groningen, with its famous Martini Tower, many cafés, restaurants, and shops surrounding the large market squares. The famous Groninger Museum is also a cherished museum amongst art lovers.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 11:00. Enjoy a tasty lunch in the restaurant from 12:00 until 14:00. A popular stopping place for walkers and cyclists,Restaurant 't Heerehuys is housed in the vestibule of the old farmhouse. Its Jugendstil rooms provide a perfect setting to enjoy the gastronomical arts of the chef and his team. Every day the kitchen conjures up fantastic French/Mediterranean dishes, prepared using only fresh, seasonal and local produce. The restaurant is open from 18:30 until 21:30. Weather permitting, you can also dine 'al fresco' on the outdoor terrace between the old fruit trees. The hotel bar is open from 07:00 until midnight.

beautiful, peaceful location and great service. we had such a lovely candlelit meal in the restaurant, such a charming, romantic setting.
the hotel itself could do with a little facelift. the brasserie breakfast area and the reception area appear a little dated and it 39 s such a shame because this hotel has so much to offer, with so many beautiful original features to showcase.
