The charming Hotel Mare Sanat in Wijk aan Zee is close to the beach and dunes. From the hotel you can take trips to the beautiful North Holland Dune Reserve and the large covered market, the Beverwijk Bazaar. The hotel's premises are over a century old, and the rooms therefore vary in size and decor. All rooms come with a shower, a toilet, a television, a telephone, and an internet connection. Smoking is not permitted in the hotel. Guests can only smoke in the covered seating area on the outdoor terrace. On sunny days, the outdoor terrace is a lovely place to sit and listen to the birds sing.
Surroundings
The North Holland Dune Reserve lies just to the north of Wijk aan Zee. This area is perfect to explore on foot, by bike or even on horseback. It's a 15-minute drive from Hotel Mare Sanat to the Beverwijk Bazaar. This large covered market sells goods ranging from clothing to computers to pottery.

the access to the sea side in an area focused by a mass-market client-base, despite the proximity of the TATA huge steel mill
Hotel s general presentation, to be refreshed although the recurring pollution coming from the Tata mill would make it hardly profitable. Poor small and dark bedroom, with spider s webs in the corners and broken curtains. No warm welcome, as the overall aspect is against the owner manager. We however paid Eur100 for one night (including breakfast), the price we paid on the 21 4 (Keukenhof day) and on the 22 4 for a very comfortable bedroom (excluding breakfast) in a good family 3 hotel in Scheveningen-center near the beach

Very friendly staff, rustic building with comfortable rooms. Right next to the dunes and close to downtown. Great place to stay.
A little difficult to find on the way into town.
