Van der Valk Hotel Wolvega - Heerenveen is located along the A32 motorway, between Steenwijk and Heerenveen. The hotel offers free parking facilities, a modern restaurant, a trendy bar. In summertime you can have lunch or dinner on the outdoor terrace, or go swimming in the adjacent recreational lake called 'de Vlinderslag'.
Bikes, which are available for hire at the hotel, are the perfect means for exploring the surrounding area. Not far from the hotel is the gorgeous nature reserve 'De Weerribben', as well as the famous village of Giethoorn. Leeuwarden, European Capital of Culture for 2018, is just a 30-minute drive away.

Van der Valk Hotel Wolvega - Heerenveen is located in the centre of the province of Friesland. Interesting places such as Sneek, Zwolle, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen are easy to reach. In Heerenveen you can visit the Thialf ice-rink or the Abe Lenstra football stadium. The nearby nature reserve de Weerribben and National Park Drents-Friese Wold are perfect for walking and cycling. The hotel has e-bikes and regular bicycles for hire. The Frisian province is particularly well-known for its many lakes and excellent opportunities for water sports.
Food and Drink
A breakfast buffet is available from 06:30 until 10:00 on weekdays, and from 07:30 until 11:00 at the weekend. The à la carte restaurant Martinus has a classical ambience and offers an extensive à la carte menu. The kitchen is open daily from 11:00 until 23:00. Sunday Brunch is available every Sunday from 12:00 onwards. Besides the lovely restaurant, you can also enjoy a drink and a bite to eat by the cosy fireplace in the Birdy's Bar.

Very friendly and professional staff. Great choice of breakfast and the evening dinner menu was delicious. The bedrooms were of top standards and for a business traveller the beds were super comfortable.
The gym was very small with limited equipment.

The rooms were spacious, the rates were very reasonable and the food was outstanding.
The only negative comment I would make is that the hotel décor was a little outdated and would benefit from a modern makeover.

Very comfortable hotel with good rooms.
The secretaries at the bureau are not so kind as they should be.In the same morning I saw inside the hotel two mouses: a very bad signal of hygiene for an hotel of this category.
