The welcoming Hotel Restaurant Ruimzicht lies at the foot of the Montferland Bergherbos woods. The perfect place to encounter nature! Close your eyes and take a deep breath; enjoy the aromas of autumn or spring leaves, trees and the soggy earth. Put on your walking shoes or hop on a bike and explore the woody surroundings. The hotel even has a bike shed!
This area has many cycling routes, making it the perfect destination for long walks and bike rides. Montferland alone boasts 11 marked footpaths. If you want to enjoy nature, the Bergherbos woods are certainly not one to miss! These beautiful woods shelter various high vantage points offering stunning views of the surroundings.
The hotel has 49 atmospherically furnished rooms. All rooms come with comfortable beds, a television, and a bathroom with a bath or bath/shower combination. Several rooms offer a private balcony. Take a break and enjoy the hospitality and lovely atmosphere. No obligations, lazing allowed!
Surroundings
The Achterhoek is a cherished area for nature lovers. From Hotel-Restaurant Ruimzicht it's lovely to walk and cycle through the beautiful woody surroundings. This region has plenty to offer guests of all ages. You can visit Burgers' Zoo, a 30-minute drive away, and encounter penguins, elephants and panthers up close. Arnhem and Doetinchem are great for shopping. The German city of Oberhausen is just a 45-minute drive away and where you'll find the huge indoor shopping complex CentrO. Stroombroek leisure park is a must in summer! Here you can walk, cycle, dive, water ski and sunbathe. Also recommended to visit is Huis Bergh Castle, which was built in the 13th century.
Food and Drink
Enjoy a refreshing start to your day with a hearty breakfast. A breakfast buffet is available daily from 06:30 until 10:00. For a culinary experience you can visit Brasserie Brût, which serves both lunch and dinner. The lunch menu offers a variety of light lunch dishes; enjoy a delicious soup or a healthy salad. A wonderful à la carte dinner is available in the evening. The kitchen is open daily from 12:00 until 20:30. And you can unwind in the hotel bar, open daily from 10:00 until 23:30, with a coffee or an after-dinner drink. The hotel furthermore has two spacious outdoor terraces where you can enjoy the fresh air: a large outdoor terrace at the front and side of the hotel with a view of the Montferland woods, and an enclosed courtyard.

Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Outside tables for eating in nice weather. Good breakfast selection.
Decor looks a little old, no air conditioning in bedrooms. Bedrooms and bathrooms need updating.

Had a 2 nights for 1 offer, good quality for value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (included in the 2for1 offer) was good with a good choice. Would recommend others and definitely would choose this hotel again if I needed to.
Restaurant seems to have a nice atmosphere but did unfortunately not have a chance/time to try it during my visit.
Location is very nice for hiking or cycling recommended for lovers of nature and quietness.
