All hotel guests who have stayed in a hotel are asked to write a review and share their experiences. In 2017 over 40,000 experiences were shared. On Hotels.nl the average review score is listed with each hotel. Guests can rate five different categories: price/quality, hygiene, service, comfort and location. The review scores, as well as the pros and cons listed by guests, help future guests to decide which hotel to book. What's more, all hotels with a 90% recommendation rate are awarded an extra 0.2 points.
In 2014 Hotels.nl handed out awards for the first time. The hoteliers responded very enthusiastically to this, and that's why the awards were personally handed out again by Hotels.nl employees this year.
With an impressive average review score of 9.2 based on 361 reviews, Rotterdam Marriott was voted "Best Hotel in the Netherlands" by Hotels.nl guests.
The award for "Best Chain" is given to the chain that excels in beautiful locations, a good price/quality ratio, and excellent review scores. The winner of 2017 is NH Hotels.
