Utrecht is also dubbed the Domstad (Dom City), after its famous Dom Church, which lies just around the corner of the hotel. It's easy to explore Utrecht with Hotel Dom as your starting point thanks to the hotel's great location in the city centre. Within walking distance you'll encounter the Catharijneconvent, the Van Speelklok tot Pierement Museum and the Stadsschouwburg. Major high-street brands as well as specialist shops can be found in Utrecht's shopping streets. During the summer, you can take a roundtrip through the canals, and the terraces on the Oudegracht are a great place to savour a drink and watch the world go by. You can also enjoy a cappuccino or a glass of wine on a terrace or in one of the cafés by the Neude square.
