All about the stay in Max Brown Hotel Museum Square Amsterdam was excellent. The staff are extremely helpful and so welcoming. The hotel is perfectly located beside the Museum Quarter and a short walk to Leidseplein square with many bars and restaurants. Our room was very clean and quirky with a unique feel. Would strongly recommend this hotel

“My tip: Leidseplein square has many restaurants that are competing with each other and it is possible to get a nice meal that is inexpensive”

The hotel s location is perfect if you are visiting museums and is close to the city centre and all suitable forms for transport. The service was excellent and staff were helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the duvets snug and warm.
The rooms are very small and the steps are suicidally steep and narrow. But, hey, that s Europe for you - so these comments are more a description than a criticism. The breakfasts aren t great but there are plenty of places nearby if you need to upgrade your breakfast.
“My tip: Get out and explore Amsterdam is a beautiful and quaint city. And the Dutch people are extremely friendly and hospitable. ”

Location. Good breakfast. Light bright, although small rooms
They must do something about the toilets. The are crammed into the smallest space imaginable and when you sit down, the lid with it s sharp edges hits you in the back. Stylish does not always equal comfort. It would have been nice to have a fan in the room. It was vvery hot and humid with no air flow in the rooms.
“My tip: Close to museums, good resturants, friendly, helpful staff, nice resturants nearby.”

Excellent location for visiting the museum quarter, Albert Cuypstraat bazaar & Pijp district, and Leidseplein nightlife. Well connected by tram to center. Clean and modern rooms (though quite small), fairly recently renovated it seemed. Neat & quiet area.
Breakfast room was overcrowded in the mornings, and breakfast was of not very high quality. A lot noise in the morning when first quests woke up and walked down the stairs, so not great for light sleepers.
“My tip: There´s a nice big grocery store with plenty of selection situated below the museum plein square, entry next to Van Gogh museum. ”

reall nice hotel, extremly close to great areas in amsterdam, close to night life, coffe shops and also to several museums. However the area felt very safe and was very quiet unlike other areas/hotels in amsterdam. Also tram stop is less then a minute away from the hotel and gets you everywhere within 15 minutes. Breakfast was up to expectations to (bread, cheese, eggs, mortadella, cereals, sweet stuff like jams and choclate, juices and cofee) Walking distance from Central station/Red distric
We had a 3 bed room, but we got a 2 bed room, and a sofa bed :S the room was therefore too small. Pity, it's the only bad thing.
“My tip: Tram is extremly close so everything is at close distance :)”

Rooms were clean and cleaned every day, rooms looked newly painted & renovated, service was friendly, breakfast was good, wifi was free and worked well. Location was pretty good too, a bit of a walk from the centre, say 15-20 mins, but it was worth it to be in a nice quiet street. If you have a bike it's no drama at all (and you should in Amsterdam).
Room was pretty small but this is pretty standard for Holland - and not just for tourists! It was expensive too, but I think this was because we were there over New Year's Eve and their regular prices looked much more reasonable.
“My tip: Don't go around New Year's Eve unless you specifically want to. If you are there, check out the fireworks mayhem at Nieuwmarkt on the 31st”

Room is cozy and comfy. Breakfast is well spread. Staff are helpful. Most importantly, free wifi access .. Love it! The very classic spiral staircase leading you to the rooms is my favorite!
Traveller like me love to start my daily activities early.. Suggest hotel to serve breakfast earlier than 7.30 am. The stairs at the entrance of the hotel is steep , it's challenging to carry heavy luggage up or down.

Terrific location, near major squares and museums. Quiet street, half-block from tram stop.
My room was the second smallest room I've ever had in a European hotel. Well designed, but SMALL! (Also one of the smallest in this hotel, I think.)

Excellent location, right next to Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the luxury shopping street PC Hoofdstraat. Nice 'typical'Amsterdam building.
The desk was under a sloping roof and it was therefore impossible to actually sit at it. Rather pointless having it in the room! Perhaps slightly warm as it was a hot day but with the window open it wasn't too bad.

Located near Ledseplein is good. But you would need to take a tram to go to Dam square which is a lot more happening. Decent beds and amenities.
The room was extremely cold and the heater was not working. Additionally, the hot water takes a long time to get to your pipe! Its not exactly the cheapest as well.

Cheap, easy to get to, and great staff.
Internet didn;t work, had to spend extra money on it the unit in the lobby. Bathroom was very small and as it was the only one on the ground floor, I could hear quite clearly all the noise from people coming in and going out.
