The Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is located in the centre of Amsterdam, at the enchanting IJ river. The 408 comfortable rooms offer the luxury that can be expected of a 4-star hotel. Thanks to the many conference rooms and state of the art facilities, the hotel is perfect for business related visits. The 12 conference rooms, with a capacity from 8 to 450 persons, offer an extraordinary infrastructure scattered over almost 1,000 sq metres. The conference rooms, as well as many guestrooms, present a splendid view of the river. Naturally, all of the boardrooms are equipped with av equipment, video conferencing with catering if required.
All of the rooms are equipped with a minibar, safe for a laptop, bathroom with bath and/or shower and toilet. On request, rooms with a city or river view can be reserved. All standard rooms are equipped with a comfortable sofa bed which makes the rooms suitable for 3 persons. The Health Club with sauna and excellent fitness facilities can be used free of charge by guests. Bicycles can be rented at the hotel making the inner city pleasant and easy to reach.
Surroundings
The Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is very easy to reach by car or public transport. Due to the short distance towards the Central Station, various trams and buses can be used to reach the city centre. Connections in Amsterdam are fast and frequent. However, the most beautiful way to visit Amsterdam is through a stroll alongside the Dam square towards areas such as the vibrant Rembrandtplein with its bars and clubs.
Food and Drink
Restaurant Silk Road presents international cuisine in an enjoyable, tranquil environment. Buffet as well as a lá carte dishes are served but on top of this guests can enjoy 'live cooking', whereby your meals are prepared quickly in the open kitchen. The continental, or buffet breakfast, is served daily between 06:30 and 10:30 h. and until 11:00 h. during the weekend. On sunny days, lunch and dinner can be ordered on the outside terrace with the beautiful view of the IJ river.

Children/extra beds: The rooms are suitable for single, double or triple occupancy (third person sleeps on a sofa bed). Children up to 12 years old can stay in the parents' room for free, as long as no additional bed is needed. Children under 3 years can enjoy a free breakfast in the restaurant and children from 4 to 12 years get a discount of 50% on the breakfast price.
The hotel will charge a deposit on your credit card upon check-in. If you do not have a credit card, you are required to pay a deposit of €50 per room per night.
As of 1 January 2020, tourist tax will increase. An additional €3.00 per person per night will apply on top of the current percentage of 7%.

Clean and helpful staff
The food - there should be more choice for vegans, vegetarians and people with gluten allergies - a jacuzzi and swimming pool would be good

Very good value and highly comfortable rooms. Staff friendly and professional at all times. Will be back next Christmas.
Very little to identify apart from location which some people may find an issue as hotel is a tram stop from central station. Would have liked to increase slightly the heating in the bedroom, as room was cool due to windy conditions (on the 20th floor) and being next to the sea.

Was advised when booking car park underneath hotel was good and be £30, when actually its £50 a day so for the 2 of us we had £200 bill for two days, if this had been explained we would not have drove into central Dam! You chagred me the whole room price and a extra £80 the day we arrvied and it will take over a week for you to refund the extra back on my card! Although i appricate its a non smoking hotel, it seems madness in amsteram to chagre £250 if you did.

Easy access to Central Station (one stop away by tram 26), yet pleasantly removed from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Wonderful helpful staff, wonderful room, wonderful breakfast.

Hotel is very modern with great view. Hotel staff is very friendly and informative. I would recommend this hotel either for business or leisure.
I entered lower points for location, but it did not mean that it is huge problem. However the services for shuttle bus was not proposed and even the bus was not operating at all. I seen too many tourists walking by the cost to the hotel with their luggages. I understand that everyone can take a taxi, but the shuttle buys offered by hotel website was nice solution. Information was not clear where the bus could be when arriving to the train station and with ongoing construction works it was not clear at all. Thinking of walking less than 1km and with vision of the hotel form the train station will give you impression that you can make it in few minutes. The journey will take around 15 minutes with suit case. As due to the water canal you cannot go directly to the hotel, you have to go around it. Also it was not clear on the website for location where the entrance is and small map will really help to find a way to the hotel, as you can easily get confused which way to go to avoid stairs when wondering and enjoying the view. Anyway we ourself enjoyed the walking and also our stay at hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and informative. For the room I will put only one small minus point and it was a television. I understand that it meet the standard, however LCD TV will be more welcome as the old televisions do not have the picture quality.

Hotel provided excellent accommodation, a little distance away from city, but with good transport links and free shuttle bus. Walking is also feasible and it is really only a 10 minute walk to city centre. Location was very suitable for us as we were meeting up with people on board a cruiseship docked beside the hotel. Well designed rooms and great views (we were on 18th floor so very quiet too!)
Not a very attractive area (but as said above suitable for us and not far from city centre.)

They cover almost all my needs as host like internet in room, service to room without extra charge, warm attention and an excelent landscape.
In the bathroom i found all soaps for men (I am a woman), I booked by internet and within information they asked it is contained female, so you must check this. Another bad poin was the shower, water varied from very hot to cold (at night) without any reason.

On my first visit to the hotel I was very positively surprised, good location, clean rooms, good service, good food. Those would be the plus points in general, on this visit though I was very disappointed.
The people this time were not very friendly at all, the room was over priced, on one occasion we called room service and out of the 15 items that were on the menu they could provide only 2 or 3. In general last time we were there the people working at the hotel were much friendlier, this time they treated us like we were staying there for free or something.

I received a parking fine while unloading my luggage. Staff unable or unwilling to do anything about it . Did not watn me of the danger, considered it my fault that there was a problem.

Frühstück war an diesem Wochenende nicht Mövenpick Niveau! Zuwenig Personal, Essen wurde nicht oder nur spät nachgefüllt, Jedoch war es eine Ausnahme da der normale Frühstücksraum nicht zur Verfügung stand (Umbau?)

Enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. The tram stop in front of the hotel that was only one stop away from Amsterdamn Central Station made getting around the city quick and easy. The view from the room was wonderful and we would definately stay there again.
The biggest minus for me was the absence of information in our room detailing the amenities the hotel provided. I was not able to log onto a secure site with my computer in my room using the free wireless and had to use the hard wired connection provided in the room which was slightly expensive. Both systems worked well however. We did not eat the wonderful breakfast at the hotel due to the price.

We paid extra for a lounge that we were supossed to use for free drinks/snack was a waste of time. First time we tried to use it, it was closed for cleaning, the second no one was available to tell us how to get a drink or a snack, the third time when someone was available, we were talked to is if we were an inconvienience. Finally we went to go in there to have our breakfast only to be told \"its full you will have to find a table in the normal restuarant. Felt as we paid for something that we didnt recieve. Once having breakfast had to ask 3 time for milk to be topped up and when my wife asked for cutlery that was supposed to be on table, she was told to \"look harder for some\" by a member of staff. The staff on the restuarant/exec lounge floor let the rest of the hotel down!

Third year running at this hotel. Allowed to check in early again which is brilliant after travelling overnight. The reception staff were very courteous and helpful.Baggage storage after checkout very useful. Muminibus to station after stay is a great idea it is something that hotel do not have to do but is an example of a company prepared to do that bit more to make your stay a better experience.
Expensive - though this is due to the weak pound.
